E1M5: Administration is the fifth map in the Dead Colliding episode of ConC.E.R.Ned. It was designed by Matt Powell (cannonball) and uses the music track "Lord of L.A.," originally composed by Lee Jackson for Duke Nukem 3D.

Walkthrough[edit]

Essentials[edit]

Open the door in front of you and go forward to a T-junction guarded by a few zombies and imps; this is situated at the south side of a ring-shaped corridor. Turn left or right and follow the corridor until you reach a door in the north wall and go through it to a large gray room with a fountain in the center, then follow the ledge you are standing on round to the gray brick structure at the north side of the room; behind the door here are some shotgun guys as well as a demon on Hurt Me Plenty skill level or lower, or a baron of Hell on Ultra-Violence (UV) and Nightmare (NM). Press the button between the windows to lower the pillar holding the blue keycard, then go down the staircases on the other side of the room to collect it. Watch out for lost souls and cacodemons teleporting to the fountain when you take the key, as well as other enemies emerging from alcoves on the east and west walls.

Leave the room by the south-east door and go through the blue key door on your right, kill the shotgun guys and demons in the next room then look behind the south desk to find a switch that will lower a barricade behind you. Step past the barricade and kill the zombiemen that rise from the pillars around you (or shotgun guys on UV and NM), press the button then return to the ring-shaped corridor where the east walls have lowered to reveal two more rooms. Step through any of the wall openings and dispose of the zombiemen and shotgun guys that are released behind you, then head into a room with a gray floor that holds some zombies and a baron. Go to the window to find the red keycard behind the middle desk.

Return to the ring-shaped corridor and kill the shotgun guys, imps, demons and barons that have been released from a closet to the north, then go round to the west side of the corridor and go through the red key door here - some cacodemons will be released behind you and one or two of them will teleport into the hallway with you. Go down the north staircase and turn right at the bottom to find one or two shotgun guys guarding a switch, flip it then head west into a small room where a baron, some cacodemons and a few smaller enemies are guarding the yellow keycard. Taking the key will open two closets outside releasing shotgun guys, imps, demons and lost souls - some of these enemies will teleport into the room so arm yourself before taking the key.

Go back to the ring-shaped corridor where another closet containing imps, shotgun guys, demons and one to three barons has opened, then go round to the north side and open the yellow key door here to enter an airlock, where two or three shotgun guys are guarding the exit switch.

Other points of interest[edit]

From the start of the level, head forward to a T-junction and turn left, then go through the door on your left to find a cacodemon guarding a chaingun.

A rocket launcher can be found by the north wall of the fountain in the center room.

Secrets[edit]

  1. In the south-west room, use the computer at the right desk to lower the south-west wall with a backpack. (sector 42)
  2. At the switch that lowers the blue key, shoot the blinking UAC logo above the key to open a wall in the back with a computer area map. (sector 130)
  3. At the east end, in the south room, use the gray terminal on the west wall to lower the south wall, with armor bonuses, energy cells and a plasma gun. (sector 236)
  4. In the hall past the red key door, enter the south room and use the gray terminal at the north wall. Go to the yellow key room and the door to the east will be open, where you can get a supercharge. (sector 342)
