E1M5: E2M5 - Headquarters is the fifth map in the first episode of Switcheroom. It was designed by Fernito and is based on the layout of E2M5: Command Center. The par time defined in MAPINFO is 2:45.

Walkthrough[edit]

Essentials[edit]

Open the door and kill the monsters in the starting area, then head up the staircases on either side to reach a large junction. Go south to an outdoor area with pillars and open the door at the far end, then go west through another door and go round the corner to see a dead-end with two further doors. Take the west door to enter a room with four more doors, then go through either of the western doors and follow the corridor to a fenced area surrounded by nukage. Press the button on the north-west wall to open it, revealing the blue keycard.

Go back to the dead-end and pass through the east door this time, then follow the path up a round staircase and continue east past a door (you will return to it shortly) to a blue door at the end of the hallway. Go through it and take the yellow keycard at the south end of the room, which will release imps behind you, then go back to the door you just passed and open it to see a staircase next to a button. Go down the stairs to a triangular room, then go east through another door and cross a nukage pool to reach a hallway leading to yet another door. Go through this door along with a yellow door behind it, then follow the corridor north to a hall with four large chambers. Press the button in the northern chamber to open two more doors to the east and west, step through them then follow the path to the exit door. Open it to find the exit button, guarded by a spectre on Ultra-Violence and Nightmare skill levels.

  1. Go up the steps west of the start, but as soon as you step on the first step, quickly return to the starting room and run east to a lowered wall that has a chaingun and clips. (sector 3)
  2. Go up the steps east of the start, but as soon as you step on the first step, quickly return to the starting room and run west to a lowered wall that has a megaarmor and stimpacks. (sector 52)
  3. In the room at the west side with a single nukage river, open the smaller door and press the switch. Quickly leave and go on the northwest lift. Ride up to get a computer area map. (sector 131)
  4. After climbing the circular steps, take the first door you see and use the first switch in front of you. Return to the north end of the circular steps and head south into a secret room with radiation shielding suits and a medikit. (sector 249)
  5. Enter the room south of the central room and take the east door. Open the beige wall to the east to get a chainsaw. (sector 258)
  6. Go back to the switch that opened secret #5 and take the south-west path to the nukage. Enter the south-west room and go to the gray wall to the north to open it. You will find an armor bonus and a box of shotgun shells, and you can continue to the north-west section which has boxes of rockets and a rocket launcher. (sector 294)
  7. In the south-east room with nukage, use the wall with slime to the north to find a radiation suit, and a supercharge at the end of a second nukage pool. (sector 371)

  • In the final area with four chambers, go behind the button to find a narrow passage leading to a backpack.
