Essentials[edit]

Take the shotgun if you need it then press the button on your right to reach the reactor core, which is guarded by a number of zombies and imps along with one demon. Go through the west doorway to enter a tunnel leading to a stone room with a chaingun, then go through the west door and turn left to see a chamber with a rocket launcher - when you enter the chamber two of the walls will open to reveal shotgun guys, as well as barons of Hell on Hurt Me Plenty (HMP) skill level or higher. Flip the switch behind the west wall then go back into the hallway and head north through either of the now-open doors, then go down the gray steps to find a radiation shielding suit which you will need to traverse the nukage area.

Enter the nukage and go to the north-east corner to find a tunnel leading to a large computer room with zombies and cacodemons - when you climb the steps up to the gray ledge on the west side of the room, several closets will open and release demons and spectres into the area. Press the button next to the berserk pack in the middle of the wall, then return to the nukage area and go to the north-west corner to find that a door has opened revealing a switch guarded by several caged shotgun guys. After flipping the switch, head south-west through another door and follow the passage past some monsters to the yellow keycard - taking it will open the wall on your left and reveal a crowd of spectres, cacodemons, imps and barons, which you should kill by blowing up the barrels in the room as well as using the plasma gun by the east wall.

After escaping the ambush, flip the switch in the south-east corner to reopen the door to the nukage area, where another crowd of monsters has teleported in. Fight your way back to the gray walkway on the other side of the room, go up the steps and through the open door then head east to a UAC door and open it to find a hallway leading to a cacodemon guarding a button. Press the button to open the bars behind you then go through to an octagonal room containing zombies and one or two barons; arm yourself before flipping the switch by the north window, as it will lower the bars around the red keycard on the other side of the room but will also allow another baron to teleport in (or a cyberdemon on Ultra-Violence and Nightmare).

With the red key, leave the room through the east archway and go through the door in front of you to enter a two-tier area where some cacodemons and spectres are guarding a rocket launcher. Go up the east staircase and turn round at the top, heading through the tan door in the south wall to reach a room with four brown columns; there is a switch by the south wall that needs to be flipped, but watch out for demons, shotgun guys, lost souls and a baron being released behind you when you do so. Leave the room by the east door to reach a water-filled pit surrounded by a high wall, then go round to the north side to find a lift that you can ride down to the water. The blue keycard is sitting on a gray step at the other side of the pit along with ammo, but when you go towards it the three green columns in the pit will open to reveal barons and demons (plus a cyberdemon on HMP or higher).

With the blue key, press the button next to the lift to lower it and ride this back up to the top of the pit, then go round to the west side to find a chaingun next to a tunnel that leads back to the reactor core at the start of the level. The core has opened to reveal a cyberdemon; kill or avoid it, then ride the lift on the north side of the room up and flip the three switches in front of you to open the doors next to them. Go through the doors and flip another switch in front of you to finish the level.

Other points of interest[edit]

Look behind the curved wall at the south end of the nukage area to find several items including an armor and a radiation suit.

From the red key area, head east into a hallway with a tile floor and follow this north until you reach a door. Open it and go round the corner to find a rocket launcher and a partial invisibility guarded by shotgun guys and cacodemons.

Secrets[edit]

  1. In the large nukage area, the western-most column in the second row has a tiny button embedded in its north side. Pressing this button will lower two other columns, one to the east with a supercharge and one to the south with a computer area map. Both count as one secret. (sector 595)
  2. In the red key room, lower the north-east terminal to find a megaarmor, an energy cell pack and a medikit. (sector 288)
  3. In the hall north of the blue key area, part of the north wall is clean instead of being covered in slime. Open that wall to find armor bonuses, a medikit and a rocket launcher. (sector 445)
