E1M8: Darkside Lab is the eighth and final map of the Knee-Deep in the Dead episode in Doom the Way id Did: The Lost Episodes. It was designed by Xaser.

Letters in italics refer to marked spots on the map. Sector, thing, and linedef numbers in boldface are secrets which count toward the end-of-level tally.


Take the shotgun in front of you then head south-west to a door - behind it is a rocket launcher guarded by two waiting shotgun guys. Go up the steps next to the door to reach a hallway and follow it until you pass through a bright archway, which will open the west wall to reveal imps and/or demons. Climb up the marble stairs at the north end of the hallway to a blue passage and follow it round to a door, go through then head down the red spiral steps until you reach the bottom. The center column will lower to reveal three barons of Hell, which must all be killed to lower the south wall and reveal a cliff. Drop down the cliff to see a star-shaped hole, then fall into it to land on a highly damaging floor that will automatically end the level.

  1. At the start, head to the north-west end of the room to find a button on the right side of the last terminal. This button lowers the center terminal with the supercharge. (sector 8)
