E1M8: Orion Outpost is the eighth and last level of Fava Beans, designed by Sean Birkel. It features two barons of Hell which serve as bosses. The level is short, especially if the player came from the previous levels with at least with a rocket launcher.

Walkthrough[edit]

Essentials[edit]

There are no keys on this map and the progression is relatively simple and linear. Open the door in the starting area and progress to the nukage room. Do not fall into the pit, as there is no way to escape. Progress around either side and open either door at the far end. Before you drop down make sure you have all the ammo and weapons you need, as you cannot backtrack. As you drop down a wall lowers to reveal the final arena. You must kill the two barons to complete the level. Once dead the arena walls lower (similar to E1M8: Phobos Anomaly) to reveal the outside area. To finish the level, go outside and enter the pyramid-like exit portal.

Non-official[edit]

  • Deathmatch only: If you spawn in the nukage room, on the upper border with the chaingun, go forward until you reach it. Interact with the wall on the left, behind the chaingun, to open it and reveal a hidden room with a rocket launcher and boxes of rockets.
