E1M9: E2M9 - Abandoned Outpost is the ninth and secret map in the first episode of Switcheroom. It was designed by Travers Dunne (traversd) and is based on the layout of E2M9: Fortress of Mystery. The par time defined in MAPINFO is 2:45.

Essentials[edit]

Flip the switch in front of you to raise the floor, taking you up to a yard with numerous zombiemen, imps and demons. Go to the west end of the courtyard to find the red keycard in an alcove, then go through the door at the east end to enter a room with an armor. Take the armor to lower the north and south walls, revealing more monsters, then flip the switches on the north-east and south-east pillars in this room to lower the blue and yellow keycards, located at the north and south ends of the room. Use the keys to open all the locked doors at either end of the room, then go through to the final door and open it to find the exit switch.

Secrets[edit]

  1. After entering the center of the second room, go back to the yard and head to the north. Use the switch to the lift and ride the lift up to a supercharge. (sector 31)
  2. After entering the center of the second room, go back to the yard and enter the south-east compartment which has a rocket launcher. (sector 52)
  3. At the south set of key doors, open the red and yellow doors, then open the south wall to get a computer area map. (sector 3)
