E1M9: The Shaft is the ninth and secret map of Alpha Accident: Terra Nova. It was designed by Eugene Guschin (Wraith777) and uses the music track "". The par time defined in ZMAPINFO is 2:45.

Secrets[edit]

  1. Use the leftmost switch at the start. Head west past two forks, then south. At the raised ledge to the west, open the wall to the north to get a box of ammo and a stimpack. (sector 366)
  2. In the lava cave at the west end, get onto the small platform with the medikit to open the north wall. Flip the switch at the end of this hall to open two closets, with the right one behind a hall to the next area. In here, flip the switch to take a lift up. At the top, flip the left switch and head through to the north, then head east all the way. Blow up the obstacle and go past it to find a container. (sector 52)
  3. In the central room, head to the west side and open the east wall at the northwest lift to find a lift with a destructible column. (sector 117)
  4. Take the lift with the destructible column up, then jump east and head south, past a column, until the floor below you rises. When it does, face east, destroy another destructible column, then jump east and into the corridor to find a soul sphere. (sector 123)
  5. In the central room, head to the northeast side and flip the switch for a lift. Jump to the switch to the west and use it, but instead of taking the nearby lift back up, head all the way east and down into a new room. Find another switch in this new room and flip it to lower a lift to the west. Take it up and head to the other side of this U-shaped ledge. Shoot the destructible column to the south and jump to the platform there to get a rocket launcher. (sector 110)
  6. In the central room, get to the northwest side and flip the switch there to access the room beyond it. Here, head to the southwest end and take the lift in the north corridor. From here, jump to the east ledge to find a container. (sector 242)
  7. In the southwest room with a chainsaw on a high pillar, get to the ledge east of the lava and open the east wall. Head north, blow up the obstacle, and flip the switch here to lower the chainsaw. (sector 378)
  8. At the switch which lowers the yellow key, lower the east wall to find armor shards. (sector 219)
  9. Open the east wall in Secret #8 to find a medikit. (sector 152)
  10. In the southeasternmost room, shoot the empty barrels at the southeast to remove them, then press on the east wall to find a path to shotgun shells and partial invisibility. (sector 187)
  11. Use the switch in Secret #10 to lower the floor, then from there, head west and north to a new room. The medikit in the middle is the secret. (sector 177)
  12. In the room west of the room where Secret #11 is, use the north switch to lower the terminal north of you, then head north and east. Head to the north wall in the room with lights to lower the wall north from there. Head that way to lower another wall, and follow the lowering walls north to a red door. Open it and head to the northwest side. Blow up the obstacle by a wall to the east and open that wall to find armor shards and an energy cell. (sector 188)
