E1M9 is the ninth and secret map of Aarrghh!. It was designed by Alex Korobka and Oleg Tolstkhine.

Secrets[edit]

  1. Take the north-east teleporter at the start. Go through a door, and round towards a switch. En route is a secret door in the north wall leading to an area with two imps, a lost soul, a clip, 8 shotgun shells, a box of rockets, five armor bonuses, two health bonuses, a medikit, and a soul sphere. There are two secrets here. (sector 132)
  2. See #1. (sector 138)
  3. The area between the two doors leading to the switch which lowers the wall before the blue key has a secret door to the north (where the wall is angled) leading to a backpack. (sector 176)
  4. One of the steps leading up to the blue key is wider than the others. There is a secret door to the south here, which opens on shooting, leading (via another secret door marked with a lion) to eight health bonuses, a radiation shielding suit (two on easy skill), and a demon. (sector 206)
  5. The large blood room accessed via #4 has three secret doors in between the gargoyles on the east wall, all of which open on shooting. The northern one leads to two energy cells. (sector 193)
  6. The middle door (see #5) leads to three medikits and a megaarmor. (sector 117)
  7. The southern door (see #5) also leads to two energy cells. (sector 118)
  8. After going through the blue door, you will see two arrows on the floor. The one pointing east indicates a secret door leading to a switch. (sector 57)
  9. Pressing the switch in #8 opens up a door near the teleporter entry to this area that reveals a box of bullets and a box of shotgun shells. The eastern wall here is fake - behind it is an energy cell pack, an armor, and a soul sphere. There is a route leading north from here back to normal territory. There are two secrets here. (sector 64)

  11. There are three octagonal lifts between the blue and red doors. Between the first and second lifts is a secret door to the west leading to a cacodemon (a shotgun guy on easy skill), a stimpack, a medikit, a plasma rifle, an energy cell, and a rocket (not on hard skill). (sector 5)
  12. Just west of the yellow key is a secret door to the north, allowing access to a teleporter. Go through it and head to a small rectangular room. There is a secret door on the east wall here (marked with a misaligned texture), leading to a backpack. (sector 238)
  13. After #12, head down the stairs and turn left then right. Ahead of you is a secret door (marked with a misaligned texture) leading to an imp (not on easy skill) and an energy cell pack. (sector 15)
  14. After #13, continue along the path through a yellow door to reach an outdoor area. There is a secret door on the south-east here leading to a box of rockets. (sector 73)
  15. The western wall of #14 is a secret door leading to a switch which raises a floor in the outdoor area allowing access to the BFG9000. (sector 81)
  16. The south wall of #14 is a secret door leading to a megaarmor and a route back to the area south of the blue door (via a red door). (sector 70)
