E2M1: Rip and Tear is the first map of Monument. It was designed by Christian Hansen and uses the music track "Pipeline" by James Paddock (Jimmy).

Secrets[edit]

  1. After getting the red key, jump onto the crates to the north to pick up a backpack. (sector 79)
  2. On the northernmost steps, look south as you climb and shoot the switch. Return to the teleporter at the northeast end to find a path to a chaingun (berserk pack on Ultra-Violence or higher), health bonuses, and ammo clips. (sector 169)
