E2M2: Containment Area is the second map in episode The Shores of Hell of Wonderful Doom. It was designed by Eugene Guschin (Wraith777).

Other points of interest[edit]


  1. Head west from the start, then look south and press on the gray stack of crates to lower it, revealing a box of shotgun shells. (sector 205)
  2. Head to the northernmost part of the crate maze. When you see an armor bonus, step on the rusted floor south of it which will lower a crate near the armor bonus. This area has another armor bonus, shotgun shells, an ammo clip, and a door requiring the red key. (sector 92)
  3. At the central marble area, head south and press on the first wall of fire at the eastern side of the hallway to find a rocket launcher and rockets. (sector 133)
  4. At the southwestern part of the map with green walls, press a brown wall to the south to find a megaarmor. (sector 41)
  5. At the section with the rising and lowering platforms, head to the westernmost batch of platforms and ride them up to an opening. (sector 238) Follow the trail of armor bonuses to get an energy cell pack.
  6. Head all the way north from the rising and lowering platforms, then all the way west through the areas with blue lights. Press on the southwestern corner of the westernmost part of the area to find a passage of health bonuses leading to armor bonuses, a chainsaw, and a switch to open the western wall. (sector 13)
  7. Head east from the yellow key to a set of steps with satyr faces flanking them. Press on the western face, then take the steps down and open the yellow door. Head a bit south and there will be an open door with armor bonuses and a soul sphere. (sector 129)
  8. Return to Secret #2 after you get the red key and open the door. Head to the northern part of the area and press the skull switch to open the middle door with a plasma gun, energy cell pack, and medikit behind it. (sector 171) Note that when you enter this room, the pickups will rise on pillars, so quickly grab one of them. Stepping on the pillars with the energy cell pack and medikit will open the other doors in the main room.
