E2M3: E1M3 - Bio Processing is the third map in the second episode of Switcheroom. It was designed by Icytux and is based on the layout of E1M3: Toxin Refinery. The par time defined in MAPINFO is 1:30.

Essentials[edit]

On Ultra-Violence (UV) and Nightmare (NM) skill levels, there will be two imps in front of you as the level starts. Take the chaingun then go to the north-west corner of the starting area and follow the hallway here to a junction with one or more zombiemen. Head north from here to a door and open it, then go past a spectre to reach a stone bridge and cross it to reach the marble block on the other side (a baron of Hell is hiding behind the block on UV and NM). Continue north and east into the neighboring room to find a demon guarding the blue keycard; taking it releases a spectre (and lost soul on Hurt Me Plenty (HMP) or higher) into the corridor behind you.

Go back to the starting area and open the door in the north-east corner, blow up the barrels in the next room to kill any waiting monsters then go north-east past the nukage to a blue door and open it to find some damaging blood. Kill the imp and zombies on the overhead ledge, then use the nearby steps to reach that ledge before heading south into a room with a flashing light. Head south between the blocks in this room, watching for any imps and lost souls that try to ambush you, then continue west through some nukage before climbing a staircase (blocked by a cacodemon on UV and NM) to reach a ledge overlooking the starting area.

Press the button at the south end of the ledge to raise a bridge from the nukage in the starting room, head across it and open the poison sign on the other side, then follow the trail of health bonuses to a box of rockets; the wall ahead will open to reveal some monsters, and two spectres will be released behind you when you enter the room. Continue north and east to a hall with some green pillars, then enter the passage in the middle of the hall to raise a staircase up to the exit door. Open this door, kill a waiting spectre (on HMP or higher) then go straight forward to the exit button.

Other points of interest[edit]

Go down the steps by the junction north-west of the starting area to find a berserk pack and a megaarmor.

Secrets[edit]

  1. In the starting room, take the north-east door and go towards the blue door. Another wall opens to the south, so head there and to the east to find shotgun shells, a medikit, a box of bullets (both of these are only on UV and NM), and a switch. (sector 72)
  2. After using the switch in secret #1, go to the north-west path in the main room. Directly north-west of the first room afterwards is the secret passageway. (sector 130)
  3. Run through secret #2 and head for the south side in the next room. Use the wall there and you can get a plasma gun. (sector 167)
  4. Run through secret #2 (or leave secret #3), then quickly run to the north side and into a new area that has an energy cell pack (not on HMP) and stimpacks (only on UV or NM). (sector 177)
  5. In secret #4, there is a small tunnel to the east leading to a backpack, stimpacks, shotgun shells, and a clip. (sector 181)
  6. In the nukage at the south-east end, head to the south end and near the middle, you can find a radiation shielding suit to the east. (sector 153)
  7. Head north from secret #6 and to some health and armor bonuses. To the west is an energy cell and a supercharge. (sector 155)
