Walkthrough[edit]
Essentials[edit]
As the level starts you will see two imps and a demon (or baron of Hell on Ultra-Violence (UV) and Nightmare (NM) skill levels) guarding a junction. Take the berserk pack behind the wooden desk then go down the west staircase and open the door at the bottom to reach another junction with doorways going west and north - the north doorway is currently barred, so go through the west doorway to confront some imps then turn left and head down the stairs in front of you to an area with wooden beds and spectres. Head north to a lift and press the skull switch on your right to lower it, head west to a marble chamber with an armor then head north and east through two more chambers to reach a gargoyle switch along with a shotgun and a backpack. Go back to the lift and ride it back up to the wooden bed area where lost souls, shotgun guys and one or two barons have appeared, then go back upstairs to the junction where the bars blocking the north doorway have now lowered, letting you go up some more steps to a room containing the blue keycard as well as a chaingun and a rocket launcher.
Return to the starting area and kill any demons that teleport in, then go down the east staircase to a blue key door, open it and press the button on your right to lower a lift with a cacodemon. Ride the lift up to a gray corridor with zombies and turn right, then enter the first doorway on your left to enter a room with more beds as well as flesh columns. Head west up some blue stairs then enter the second doorway on your left to enter a small chamber with a button; watch out for the walls to your left and right lowering to reveal shotgun guys when you approach the button. Press the button then leave the room and turn right and right again to enter a curved hallway which you must follow past some demons and cacodemons to a doorway with a fleshy floor in front of it. Step through the doorway to a blue ledge and press the button on your left, then follow the ledge round to reach the yellow keycard.
Getting the yellow key will cause some imps, spectres and barons to teleport into the immediate area. Drop to the ground and leave the room by the east doorway, then turn left to see the exit door in front of you - open the door and kill a demon that appears in front of you (or baron on UV and NM), then flip the switch it was guarding to finish the level.
Other points of interest[edit]
After riding the lift behind the blue key door up, turn left and go round the corner to find a plasma gun.
Secrets[edit]
- In the room with the wooden beds at the west side, look at the west wall to see four gargoyle blood spouts. Walk through the second fountain from the right to find a radiation shielding suit and a plasma gun. (sector 137)
- Go through the blue key door and ride the lift behind it up, then turn left at the junction to reach a room with another plasma gun. Press the unlit lion switch on the east side of the doorway, then run through the east hall until you find a window you can jump through. Do so and get the supercharge which is the secret. (sector 254)
