E2M6: E3M6 - Bunker is the sixth map in the second episode of Switcheroom. It was designed by Micah Petersen (Jaws in Space) and is based on the layout of E3M6: Mt. Erebus. The par time defined in MAPINFO is 6:00.

Essentials[edit]

On Ultra-Violence and Nightmare skill levels, a baron of Hell will be visible through the window in front of you as the level starts. Head left or right to reach the top level of the starting building, collect the rocket launcher here then press the skull switch to open a door at the starting point. Go through that door and follow the corridor to get to the central area, then head north-west over two rivers of nukage to some green pillars and press the button to raise some steps. Kill any waiting imps and demons (plus lost souls on Hurt Me Plenty (HMP) or higher), collect the chaingun and berserk pack on the step then go back to the central area to find that an opening has appeared in the north wall. Go through this opening and run through the nukage to another button, press it then return to the central area and go to another opening that has appeared in the north-east corner.

You will see a blue barrier ahead - the exit is behind it, but you need all three keys to get there. Go through the nearby door and follow the hallway to some vine-covered alcoves with imps (a compartment with lost souls will open behind you), then flip the switch here to open it and reveal more monsters guarding the blue keycard. Go back to the hallway and continue west to the next opening, then step through it (cacodemons will be released nearby) to enter a Y-shaped room. Go to the center of the room to open four compartments with more monsters, including barons on HMP or higher, then enter the northernmost compartment to find the red keycard. Return to the hallway and go to the west end to find some steps, then open the door at the top to enter a room with two teleporters. Enter the eastern teleporter to go to the western area of the map, turn around and carefully follow the ledge you are standing on to the yellow keycard.

From the yellow key, go back to the east end of the ledge and run north-east to land in a small box with another teleporter. Use this teleporter to return to the previous room, then go back to the blue barrier you saw earlier and open all three barriers here to reach the exit door. Press the button behind the door to end the level.

Other points of interest[edit]

In the room with two teleporters, enter the western teleporter to go to a room with a plasma gun. Stepping off the ledge will open a compartment with one to four cacodemons and a teleporter leading back to the previous room.

Secrets[edit]

  1. In the blue key room, use the wall where the candle is to get an energy cell pack. (sector 77)
  2. In the west section, on the ledge you teleport to, straferun south-west and into the enclosure to find a switch (you can also rocket jump off the wall). This only lowers the area around the switch though. (sector 88)
  3. In the west section, on the ledge you teleport to, jump east to a chainsaw. (sector 92)
