E2M7: The Legion is the seventh map in the second episode of Doom: Damnation. It was designed by Ofisil and uses the music track "Anxiety". The par time defined in the DEHACKED lump is 1:00.

Walkthrough[edit]

Essentials[edit]

Collect the supplies in the starting area, including a backpack and a chaingun, then follow the path north until you reach a circular water pool. There are two paths leading north-east and north-west that ultimately lead to the same destination; however, taking the north-west path will allow you to more easily collect a shotgun, as well as a rocket launcher on some nearby steps over a lava pit. Regardless of which path you choose, keep heading north until you reach a large chamber with crates that holds numerous supplies including a chainsaw and armor.

Head north down a passage lined with health bonuses until you reach a chamber with a plasma gun - three walls will open to reveal a large crowd of monsters, including a cyberdemon directly ahead; a second cyberdemon will also be released into the starting area and will begin making its way north. Some of the monsters in the crowd will teleport to other areas of the level; you may want to return to the start to dispose of the cyberdemon and any monsters coming from that direction so they cannot trap you. After clearing the crowd of monsters, head north until you reach a silver door and open it to find a pit containing the exit switch. Make sure to collect the supercharge behind the pit before dropping into it.

Other points of interest[edit]

Near the middle of the level is a deep lava pit with a BFG9000 inside it. This item can be taken safely if you find the radiation shielding suit, which is in the western-most crate in the chamber before the crowd of monsters.

Secrets[edit]

  1. Head north from the start and just past the marble floor there will be an alcove to the west with faces dripping blood. Press on the left-most face to make a wall to the east lower. Follow the passage south-east to get a supercharge. (sector 22)
  2. Head north from the start until you reach the water. Head to the north-east side of the water and open the wall at the central rock to find a megaarmor. (sector 42)
  3. At the west side of the area with steps over lava, enter the small room there and notice the three candles on the east wall. Open the wall near the right-most candle to find three backpacks. (sector 80)
  4. In the area with steps over lava, enter the lava and enter the south-east corridor. Just before the teleporter, shoot the wall with bullet holes to discover another teleporter. This will telefrag a cyberdemon and net you an invulnerability, two supercharges, a megaarmor and ten backpacks. (sector 5)
  5. In the halls with bright red columns and armor bonuses, head to the north of the two halls and look at the east wall. You will notice a small red strip somewhere along the rock wall. Use it, then head north, then east, where you will see a bright red column lower holding an invulnerability. (sector 125)
