Walkthrough[edit]
Essentials[edit]
You begin at the top of the staircase in the center of the map. Blow up the pods in front of you to clear the staircase then go down to the stained-glass windows on the bottom level, watching out for sabreclaws on the way down. Go west or east to drop into a water pool with the titular glacier, fight off any waiting gargoyles then climb up to the top of the glacier (move slowly to avoid slipping off the ice) to find the yellow key along with Gauntlets of the Necromancer. The glacier will sink into the water and the windows overlooking this area will open to reveal disciples of D'Sparil. Go up the steps in the north-east and north-west corners of the pool, which are blocked by more pods, then go east or west respectively to see one or more undead warriors guarding a teleporter which goes back to the bottom level of the staircase.
Go west to a pair of yellow doors and open them to enter an icy hallway with weredragons, then go south along the hallway and look at the doorways to your right. Go through the middle doorway and follow the passage round to the green key, turn around and kill the two weredragons (or disciples on bringest them oneth skill level or higher) that are released behind you, then go back to the bottom of the staircase and open the green doors on the east side. Kill some waiting gargoyles then go south up the steps and look left at the top to see stairs leading down to a hall with a lava pool. Blow up the pods on the east side of the hall to clear the steps leading up to the blue key, then collect it to see the floor below you fall into the lava. Go back to the staircase and open the blue door at the top to face some disciples, then press the switch on the east wall to open the exit door next to it and reveal one more disciple protecting the exit teleporter.
Other points of interest[edit]
Secrets[edit]
- Go down to the bottom level of the central staircase to lower a wall in the south-western alcove near the top of the stairs. Behind it you will find a disciple guarding a Bag of Holding, an energy orb, and a quiver of ethereal arrows. (sector 188)
- At the north end of the map, press the switch opposite the teleporter leading back to the central staircase to lower a lift to the north. Step past this lift before it rises to find a passage leading to another teleporter, which will send you to a small compartment with a Wings of Wrath, a Tome of Power, a firemace, and two piles of mace spheres. (sector 94) If possible, you should kill the monsters inside the secret from outside before going into it.
- With the Wings of Wrath, go to the glacier area and fly up to the stained-glass windows in the south-west corner. The two northernmost windows will open when you fly into them, revealing a disciple (or iron lich on BTO or higher) guarding an inferno orb and greater runes. (sector 68)
- With the Wings of Wrath, go to the glacier area and fly up to the three stained-glass windows on the north wall. Flying into any of the windows will open all of them, revealing disciples along with a torch, a dragon claw, a Tome of Power, quartz flasks, energy orbs, and ethereal arrows. (sector 97) All of the compartments count as one secret.
- In the lava hall on the east side of the map, go to the serpent torches west of the pool to see a pod in between two of them. Open the wall behind the pod to find a teleporter to a compartment on the east side of the glacier where you can get a phoenix rod. (sector 207)
- Go through the green doors then go south until you reach the entrance to an ice-covered tunnel. Go through the entrance and hug the west wall until a section concealing a Ring of Invulnerability opens. (sector 162)
- From secret #6, go to the north end of the ice-covered corridor to find a compartment containing a mystic urn. You can open the north wall outside this compartment, which has a brightly-lit patch of floor in front of it, to find a hellstaff blocked by pods. (sector 33)
- Walking through the exit door will open a compartment behind you with disciples and two teleporters. Enter the west teleporter to go to a cage with a map scroll, a crystal vial, and an energy orb. (sector 145)
- Enter the east teleporter in the aforementioned compartment to go to a room with two quartz flasks, one or two energy orbs, and a mystic urn. (sector 134)

Comparison of versions[edit]
Room design[edit]
- The glacier area has been redesigned.
- The glacier area is now an outdoor area with high white walls.
- The glacier melts when the yellow key is taken, causing the water below it to rise at the same time.
- Secret #4 was raised off the ground and requires the Wings of Wrath to access. The secret was also changed to three separate compartments rather than just one.
- The teleporter at the top of the glacier was moved into the northernmost room.
- Secret #2 is no longer disconnected from the rest of the map, making it possible to kill the monsters inside rather than teleporting into an ambush.
- The floor of the blue key hall now sinks into lava when the key is taken.
Texture changes[edit]
- A greater variety of floor and wall textures are used throughout the map. In the original level, most of the floors used a tan stone texture (FLAT522) and sandstone walls (SPINE2).
- Wooden walls and supports were added to the green key area.
- Ice was added to the antechambers on the west side of the map.
- The passage west of the blue key hall was changed to ice.
Thing placement[edit]
- The blue door has six blue gizmos in front of it rather than two, probably to make them easier to see from the bottom of the staircase.
- Only one firemace can be found in the level, inside secret #2.
- The quartz flasks originally found in secret #2 were moved to secret #9, and will appear on all skill levels.
- The piles of mace spheres originally found in secret #9 were moved to secret #2. Energy orbs were added in their place.
