E3M1: E1M1 - The Baleful Fluids is the first map in the third episode of Switcheroom. It was designed by Mars Jurich (Death Egg) and is based on the layout of E1M1: Hangar. The par time defined in MAPINFO is 1:30.

Walkthrough[edit]

Essentials[edit]

Head straight forward (north) into a curved hallway, then open the door at the end to enter a hall with one or two cacodemons. Continue east to a wooden bridge and run across it (it will fall into the damaging blood as you cross), then open the door straight ahead to see an imp guarding the exit door. Open this door, kill a demon waiting behind it (on Ultra-Violence and Nightmare skill levels) then step on the white teleporter to end the level.

Other points of interest[edit]

From the start, head west into the staircase room and look at the columns on either side. Press the skull switch on the southern column to open a wall by the starting point, go through it then run through the blood outside to reach a ledge with a berserk pack, and a teleporter back to the starting room.

Secrets[edit]

  1. After crossing the collapsing bridge, open the wall with green vines to find boxes of bullets, a medikit and a box of shotgun shells. (sector 66) The outside area in the center has a supercharge.
  2. Enter the south room before the exit room and return to the collapsing bridge area. Head south-east to get a radiation shielding suit (not on Ultra-Violence or Nightmare), a medikit and a box of shotgun shells. (sector 72)
  3. After unlocking secret #2, return to the north part of the collapsing bridge area until you hear a lift lower. Quickly run back to secret #2 and take the lift to the right up to get armor bonuses and a box of shotgun shells. (sector 73)
