Letters in italics refer to marked spots on the map. Sector, thing, and linedef numbers in boldface are secrets which count toward the end-of-level tally.

Essentials[edit]

Head straight forward (south) until you reach a small triangular pool of water, then continue south into a cavern with imps and some blue torches. Press the skull switch at the south end of the cavern to open the door next to it, then step through to lower a staircase that goes down to a crossroads. Go west at the crossroads and walk between a pair of fire walls, then go through the opening to your left to enter a cave with a red door; the exit door is in the west wall, behind a rock. Go to the south end of the cave and time your run past five crushers, then head north over a stream and continue past a second pool of water (walking through it reveals a cacodemon to your right), then head up the steps to find a baron of Hell guarding the blue skull key.

Open the locked door next to the blue key, then open a second door directly opposite and press the skull switch behind it to lower the nearby wall, revealing a passage with four shotgun guys. Head east through some metal walls to the red skull key, killing two imps and a cacodemon that block your way, then go back to the red door you passed earlier and open it. Follow the tunnel round to a skull switch and press it to lower the rocks blocking the exit door, then open that door to find an imp guarding the exit teleporter.

Other points of interest[edit]

Head west from the crossroads, then enter the first opening on the left to find a skull switch. Pressing the switch raises a bridge at the end of the hallway, leading to the yellow skull key, which is needed to get secrets #6 to #9.

Secrets[edit]

  1. In the central area, open the north-east column to find a chainsaw. (sector 39)
  2. In the red halls south of the central area, head east, taking the first path above lava. Go through the wall to collect health bonuses. (sector 66)
  3. Go back to the red halls and head west, then north. Go past the damaging floors to the west end and take the passage to the north to get a backpack. (sector 179)
  4. The wall east of secret #3 reveals monsters. Open the wall behind them to find shotgun guys. (sector 191)
  5. In secret #4, open a wall to the south-west to find health bonuses and a computer area map. (sector 188)
  6. After getting the yellow key, return to the north end and enter a dark cave to the north where a chaingun is on a rock. Open the yellow door and press the switch to lower the chaingun. (sector 193)
  7. After getting the yellow key, return to the north end and go to the north-east cave. Step into the tiny section of lava and a triangular block with switches rises. Press on all of them to get a rocket launcher, a box of rockets, and a box of bullets from behind the doors. (sector 19)
  8. See secret #7. (sector 28)
  9. See secret #7. (sector 30)
  10. In the hall of crushers, go to the middle and head north to get a plasma gun. (sector 154)
  11. After the hall of crushers, in the room with water, use the metal wall to the south-east to lower a supercharge to the north. Make sure to get it, as the metal wall will lower it only once. (sector 32)
  12. In the east hall, shoot the back walls of any of the five alcoves to the north. This will reveal a passage in the zigzag hall to the east. Go there and take that passage that leads back to the alcoves, which lowers them, allowing you to get armor bonuses. (sector 76)

Bugs[edit]

A section of ceiling above the staircase near the crossroads (sector 48) is lower than the ceilings either side of it, causing the walls beneath it to be misaligned; additionally, it has no upper textures on its north and south sides, causing a noticeable hall of mirrors effect. This is likely to be a mapping error.
