E3M4: House of Pain is the fourth level of Inferno in Doom for Super NES. It is based on the original E3M4: House of Pain, with modifications to adapt the map to the console's limitations. The author of the original map is Sandy Petersen and it uses an S-SMP arrangement of the music track "Sign of Evil".

Comparison of versions[edit]

The staircase leading down to the end of the level just before the exit had all of its steps widened, possibly to account for some limitation or behavioral difference with player motion and clipping in the Reality Engine which did not tolerate the original, extremely narrow steps. The east-to-west walls in the room were also slightly lengthened to accommodate this change.
