E3M5: Deus in Absentia is the fifth map in episode Doom Is Eternal of The Joy of Mapping 6: Joy Eternal. It was designed by Fenes Octavian (DooM_RO) and uses the music track "We Die Young" by Alice in Chains, sequenced to MIDI by Robert Prince. The par time defined in MAPINFO is 8:00.

Walkthrough

Secrets

1. After opening the northeast door in the hub, take the lift and head to the next ledge. Jump south and head to the south side to find a cave with energy cells and a berserk pack. (sector 130)
2. In the north area with the lava and bridges, use a wall east of the fork to find health bonuses, a medikit, an energy cell pack, shotgun shells, and a soul sphere. (sector 215)
3. At the yellow key, shoot the evil eye to the east and head southeast to get energy cells and a plasma gun. (sector 2)
4. Head south from the exit door and press on the west wall with vines. Press on the next wall at the dead end to collect a megaarmor. (sector 29)
5. Head south from the previous secret and past a large block. Shoot the evil eye to the west to open a wall to the east, which leads to a green armor. (sector 1)
6. At the crushers, head through the west wall at the first crusher and down to get a box of rockets, medikits, an energy cell pack, and a megaarmor. (sector 454)
