E3M6: E1M6 - Mt. Terror is the sixth map in the third episode of Switcheroom. It was designed by Roberto Lopez (Gothic) and is based on the layout of E1M6: Central Processing. The par time defined in MAPINFO is 1:30.

Walkthrough[edit]

Essentials[edit]

You start in the T-shaped building at the south end of the map. Open the door in front of you to face a number of zombies, then go to the south-east building and pass through its entrance, which is flanked by imps, to see the red skull key ahead. When you go inside the building the entrance will close for 30 seconds, and taking the key opens several monster closets containing imps (plus demons on Hurt Me Plenty (HMP) skill level, and barons of Hell on Ultra-Violence (UV) and Nightmare (NM)); use the chaingun hidden behind the concrete blocks to help you kill them.

Go back outside and head to the south-west building, open either of the red doors and push past some shotgun guys to reach the south-west end, then climb up the steps to find some lost souls guarding the blue skull key. Dispose of the demons (and a baron on UV and NM) that are released at the bottom of the steps, then go back outside and head towards the building in the lava on the east side of the map. Collect a radiation shielding suit from the small structure just north of this building, then go inside it (the entrance has a blood pool in front of it) to enter a small maze. Go to the south-east chamber and press the eye switch here to open a teleporter, then go to the north-west chamber and enter that teleporter to go to the westernmost building, where zombies are guarding the yellow skull key.

Press the satyr switch to get outside, follow the walkway round until you can drop into the water below, kill any cacodemons that have been released then enter the nearby teleporter to return to the main island, near the northern building. Open the yellow door at the south end of this building, then head through it to find a skull switch at the north end that will lower the wall ahead, as well as the entrance to the north-east building. Enter that building and collect a plasma gun, then go down the stairs and collect all the ammo before pressing the eye switch on the east wall; doing so closes the staircases, and opens two compartments containing several imps and demons (plus one or two barons on HMP or higher). Enter the southern compartment and open the exit door here to find the teleporter to E3M7: E1M7 - Bloody Premonition.

Secrets[edit]

  1. At the south side of the east building, use the wall where the candle is to find a medikit, a megaarmor and an invulnerability (or radiation suit on HMP or higher). (sector 153)
  2. Leave the yellow key building and follow the ledge south and east. Go on the block with the chainsaw, open a wall to the west, and press the switch. Now go to the yellow door and open it. The secret exit will be in the middle. (sector 91)
