E3M7: Event Horizon is the seventh map in the third episode of Doom: Damnation. It was designed by Ofisil and uses the music track "The Birthplace". The par time defined in the DEHACKED lump is 3:10.

Essentials[edit]
Walk round the white teleporter in front of you to collect an invulnerability then step into the teleporter to enter a room with pits hiding lost souls - you will see a stepped platform in front of you holding imps and the blue skull key. Collect the shotguns in this room and look at the scrolling section of the west wall - as you reach the middle of the room this wall will lower to reveal a passage with light walls. Follow the passage all the way west past some demons and cacodemons and press the blue skull switch at the end, then head north up a brick passage that opened behind you - stairs will rise leading up to a chamber with bloody skull walls. Open the north-west door and slay the demon and lost souls behind it, then step through and head west between the tan steps until you reach a teleporter next to a backpack. Step on the teleporter to get above the stepped platform you saw earlier, then run forward to collect the blue key.
Drop to the ground and kill some more demons and cacodemons, head north into a dark tunnel then take the chainsaw in front of you - two demons and a baron of Hell will rise from the floor. Head north-east into a cavern with round tech pillars, then approach the vine-covered column in the middle of the room and look at its north-west side to find a switch that will lower the inside of the column and allow you to collect the red skull key. Dispose of the imps that are released into the cavern and return to where you found the chainsaw, then follow the dark tunnel north-west and west to a blue key door. Go through the door and follow the passage until you reach a dead end with a tiny wooden door - opening this door alerts a large number of imps that will teleport into the level, but also allows you to reach the yellow key. Backtrack through the blue key door and return to where you found the chainsaw, killing any imps that block your way, then head north through a now-open door to collect the yellow key.
Return to the dark tunnel and proceed east, south and then west until you reach a tan door which requires the red key. Go through the door to find a rocket launcher on a plinth, quickly step off to avoid a crusher trap then head through the north door (requiring the yellow key) to find a button in the middle of a blood pool; as you step into the blood the corner walls will lower to reveal four barons, who may teleport to the room entrance to block your escape. Return to the previous room and kill any monsters that have been released, then head west up some steps to a teleporter - the white pad furthest away from you will teleport you to the exit chamber. Head straight forward to collect a plasma gun then head up the steps and enter the teleporter at the top to finish the level.
Other points of interest[edit]
The room with bloody skull walls contains a chaingun surrounded by invisible walls. You can reach it by stepping on the white teleporter to the north.
Just before you step on the teleporter to the blue key, you will hear a door open behind you. Turn round to see that a pillar has opened revealing a baron and a supercharge.
As you walk towards the blue key door you will see a lift lower on your right, holding a baron and armor. Step on the lift to open a closet containing lost souls along with a backpack and a partial invisibility.
Just before you enter the brightly-lit area in front of the red key door, head south down a narrow tunnel to find a room with imps and a berserk pack. Taking the item will open two alcoves containing more imps.
Secrets[edit]
- Press the switch in the hall west of the area you first teleport to, then return to that area. The halls to the north lead to the yellow key area. Enter the hall at the eastern-most end in the starting room and press the switch on the east wall. This lowers an alcove at the right side of the yellow key room, which you need to quickly enter to get a megaarmor. (sector 331)
- Head west of the yellow key area to where a shotgun is. A wall will lower to the north. When it does, step on it and press the switch on the east wall. Quickly run back to the yellow key area and enter the alcove to the left to get an invulnerability. (sector 336)
- In the exit chamber, enter the south-west corridor to get a BFG9000. (sector 337)
