E4M5: Trepidation is the fifth map in episode Tormented Suffering of 2022 A Doom Odyssey. It was designed by Richie Gay (Skarj), Christian Hansen and Paul Corfiatis (pcorf), and uses the music track "Shammy" by Paul Corfiatis.

Walkthrough

Map of Trepidation

Letters in italics refer to marked spots on the map. Sector, thing, and linedef numbers in boldface are secrets which count toward the end-of-level tally.

Secrets

1. Head north from the start and head back to get a chainsaw from the door behind the starting point. (sector 1315)
2. At the northwest end, head to the east side and lower the lift with the switch. Go on the lift and head east to find a switch. After pressing it, go to the northernmost end to get a rocket launcher. (sector 1234)
3. In the central area, enter the northwest corridors and head north, then east to get ammo, backpacks, and stimpacks. (sector 765)
4. In the same corridors, head west and to a ledge with a switch. Flip it, then drop off and go south. Follow the arrows south and west, taking a lift up. Run south, east, hopping across the starting point, then north to get a BFG9000. (sector 677)
5. In the central area, go northeast and take the lift up. Press the switch and take the teleporter, then follow the arrows south to get a berserk pack. (sector 467)
6. At the north end of the nukage canal, you will see a plasma gun on a block to the southwest. Head to the blocks to the east and use a skull switch behind the first block, then quickly run back to get the plasma gun. (sector 1289)
7. At the red key, head east and a bit south. Open the east wall with the skull to find medikits, a box of ammo, a box of rockets, shotgun shells, and a computer area map. (sector 1324)
8. After lowering the bars at the south end of the nukage canal, go there and head to the area to the east. Use the east wall with the skull to get to a radiation suit and a soul sphere. (sector 489)

• This map was originally made for 2002 A Doom Odyssey but ended up being rejected. After tuning up it found its way into sequel.
