E4M7: E2M7 - Evil Is Before You is the seventh map in the fourth episode of Switcheroom. It was designed by Roberto Lopez (Gothic) and is based on the layout of E2M7: Spawning Vats.

Walkthrough[edit]
Essentials[edit]
Take the shotgun in front of you and kill the zombies, then go through the left-hand (eastern) doorway and follow the path until you climb some steps. Approach the lion wall at the top of the steps to open it (it will close behind you), then collect the rocket launcher in the next room and use it to kill the cacodemons and/or barons of Hell, then collect the BFG9000 at the north end of the room to lower the wall behind it, revealing one or two barons (or a cyberdemon on Ultra-Violence and Nightmare skill levels) along with two switches. Press both switches to open the exits from the room, then go through the southern doorway and open the next door to get outside. Drop into the nukage trench and follow it east and north to a lift, then ride it up and flip the switch ahead. This will lower a pillar outside holding the blue skull key, as well as releasing one or more cacodemons.
Return to the starting point and go through the western doorway now, then go through the satyr wall at the top of the steps to enter a junction with imps and lost souls. Open the lion wall (requiring the blue key) and fight through some zombiemen, then go down some steps and open the door immediately to your right to face more imps. Climb the stairs in this room and press the skull switch at the top, then go back to the hallway and head east to a lift that goes up to the yellow skull key. Kill the imps below you and leave the room to enter a hall with a blood stream, kill any waiting cacodemons then go through the yellow door at the east end to enter the room with the red key. Taking it closes the door behind you and releases imps on both sides; to escape, press the skull switch inside the eastern compartment to reopen the door.
Return to the blood hall and go through the door in the south-west corner, then open the red door to the north to reveal a cacodemon guarding a switch. Flip the switch to raise a bridge over the nukage pit behind you, then cross it and flip the switch that rises from the floor to finish the level.
Other points of interest[edit]
Secrets[edit]
- Take the path that leads to the north-east rocket launcher room. After the switch door, open a wall with a skull on it to the south to get an invulnerability. (sector 115)
- In the west hall with the berserk pack, lower a skull wall to the west to find energy cells, a plasma gun and an energy cell pack. (sector 162)
- In secret #2, go to the south-west column and use the switch on its west side. Head to the middle and head east to get a box of rockets and a megaarmor. (sector 161)
- In the south-west room, enter the south of two alcoves on the west side and open the wall. Follow this passage to a secret room with red bars and a switch. (sector 181)
- Open the red bars sand flip the switch in secret #4. Head all the way back to the yellow door that led to the red key, where there will now be a supercharge to the east. (sector 271)
