E4M8: Dimmed Research is the eighth map in the Frontier of Chaos episode of The Joy of Mapping 4: Summer School. It was designed by A2Rob and uses the music track "Tribal Dance," originally composed by Stuart Rynn (stewboy) for Ancient Aliens. The par time defined in MAPINFO is 9:00.

Secrets[edit]
- In the blue key room, shoot at the Equinox logo to the north of the key to open the doors to the north, which will let you get a soul sphere. (sector 397)
- In the main hub, go up the northeast steps and head north to a metal wall. Open the wall with caution stripes to find a megaarmor. (sector 617)
- At the southeast end, run west to the steps, noticing the metal columns through the window lowering. At the top of the steps, get the berserk pack. (sector 816)
