Letters in italics refer to marked spots on the map. Sector, thing, and linedef numbers in boldface are secrets which count toward the end-of-level tally.

Essentials[edit]

You start the level in a lava tunnel. Run forward until you reach an island with a chaingun, pick it up and deal with the imps and zombies (plus cacodemons on Hurt Me Plenty skill level or higher) around you, then open the door at the north end to enter the next room. Climb the steps by the east wall and press the satyr switch at the top, which will open the western door to reveal one or more cacodemons, then go through that door and collect the plasma gun behind it; doing so opens the northern door to reveal more monsters. Go through that door and flip the switch on the central column to lower the floor, then kill the monsters that are released on either side while you wait for the elevator to descend.

At the bottom, head north through the tunnel, moving between the water islands to minimize the time spent in the lava - on HMP or higher, you also need to deal with barons approaching from the opposite end. At the north end of the tunnel, flip the switch to go up to the star arena and release a spiderdemon, then kill it using any weapons at your disposal; there are four moving pillars in the arena that can be used as temporary cover. Once the spiderdemon dies and the northern walls have lowered, head north to a pentagram floor and step on it to end the episode.

Other points of interest[edit]

In the second room is a block holding a rocket launcher. You can reach it by running north from the top of the stairs to the nearby ledge, then running west to the block, which will lower automatically.
