Walkthrough[edit]
Essentials[edit]
You begin at the south-west corner of a moat surrounding a large castle. Follow the moat north and west past some sabreclaws until you reach a set of wooden stairs and climb up them to reach a yellow door, then go north and east around the outside of the castle until you reach the yellow key at the end of the ledge. Go back to the yellow door and pass through it to enter the castle, then go south past more sabreclaws to a step with red arrows—if you look west at this point you will see the blue key in a pool of water, but you cannot reach it from the ground. Continue going south to a metal building with stained glass windows, then climb up either of the staircases on the east and west sides to find a dragon claw (and an ophidian on bringest them oneth skill level or higher) next to a switch. Press the switch to lower a teleporter next to it, which will send you to a staircase at the north-east end of the castle, then climb it to reach the top of the inner wall. Go anti-clockwise around the wall until you are above the pool with the green key then drop off the ledge to collect it.
Go back to the staircase leading up to the inner wall (you can now reach it without the teleporters), climb it then run north to a ledge lined with wooden pillars. Open the green door here and kill some gargoyles waiting on the staircase, then go into the western room near the bottom to find a couple of gargoyles and a disciple of D'Sparil protecting a switch; the lights go out as you enter the room, so activate a torch if you have one. Press the switch to lower a teleporter at the bottom of the stairs, enter it to go to the middle building in the castle, then go around to the west side of the building to enter an alcove with an ophidian and another switch. Press the switch to open the windows on the north side of the building, then pass through the windows to get inside and go past some gargoyles to reach the stairs at the south end; the wooden columns inside the building have sabreclaws inside them so be prepared for an ambush. Go up the stairs to find a Wings of Wrath and another teleporter, which goes to a stone rampart at the north end of the map, then kill some ophidians and press the switch at the end of the ledge to open a set of bars in the tunnel below you. Drop down to the ground then enter the tunnel and go past a few gargoyles to find the blue key.
Go back to the metal building at the south end of the castle and open the blue door to go inside it. Run to the enchanted shield in the middle of the hall to activate a crusher around it and lower the surrounding walls to reveal disciples, then go into each compartment and walk to the steps at the south end to find two switches, which will raise two flights of stairs in between them. Climb up the stairs and slay any ophidians waiting at the top then open the door behind them to find the blue exit switch.

Secrets[edit]
Official[edit]
- Inside the middle building of the castle, go round to the south end and press the brick wall under the gold banner to reveal a Morph Ovum. (sector 140)
- After teleporting to the rampart at the north end of the map, run north-west to land on a brown ledge below with stalagmites. A firemace and mace spheres can be found at the west end of the ledge. (sector 374)
- Approaching the blue key will open a closet behind it with two fire gargoyles. Press the south-east wall of this closet to lower it and reveal an apparently empty tunnel, then go to the end of the tunnel to lower the floor. Kill some more fire gargoyles that are released on the way down and collect the Ring of Invincibility at the bottom. (sector 0)
Non-official[edit]
- Use the Wings of Wrath to fly to the eastern rampart above the blue key tunnel to get a Tome of Power and a phoenix rod.

Comparison of versions[edit]
Room design[edit]
- The outer walls of the map were replaced with brown and green cliffs.
- The wooden bridge leading up to the yellow key was replaced with steps. In the original level, the bridge would rise up to the door when a player stepped over its west side, but this was not made apparent to the player.
- In the original level, there is a switch north-east of the exit building which raises a platform up to the staircase at the north-east end of the castle, but this is not made apparent to the player. In the remastered level, pressing the switch now lowers a teleporter which goes to that staircase. Additionally, a second switch was added opposite the first switch which performs an identical function.
- A third secret was added at the north end of the map with a firemace.
- The exit building was made longer.
- The lift leading up to the exit was replaced with a staircase which is controlled by two switches. Approaching either switch lowers two pentagonal pools with disciples.
Texture changes[edit]
- The ground outside the moat was changed from sand to moss.
- The outer walls of the castle and its center building were changed to large gray bricks.
- A red carpet was added to the floor of the exit building, and additional metal textures were used on the walls.
Thing placement[edit]
- The Chaos Device in secret #3 was replaced with a Ring of Invincibility.
- A phoenix rod was added at the south end of the exit building.
- The disciples guarding the exit were replaced with a group of ophidians.
