Walkthrough[edit]
Essentials[edit]
Turn left (west) at the start to see some shotgun shells and approach them to open a closet with shotgun guys (plus imps on Hurt Me Plenty and a cacodemon on Ultra-Violence and Nightmare skill levels), then go north to another set of shells to reveal another shotgun guy to your left. Stand on the second set of shells and look south-east through the fence to see an evil eye, shoot it to open a door at the starting point then go through the door to enter an enclosure where imps, demons and lost souls will appear.
Approach the north-east corner of the enclosure to lower the wall and reveal one to four cacodemons, then go up the steps and approach the shotgun shells in the south-east corner to lower another wall behind them. Go south up two steps to find a baron of Hell and a spectre protecting a lion switch, which will lower the north wall in the previous room, then press a second lion switch in an alcove behind that wall to go down to a teleporter. Enter the teleporter and deal with any waiting enemies, including another baron, then enter the demon portal at the north end of the room to finish the level.
Other points of interest[edit]
A cyberdemon patrols the lava around the main building on UV and NM.
Secrets[edit]
Official[edit]
- From the start, enter the hall to the left and the south wall will open. Go straight south through the lion switch to get a radiation shielding suit. (sector 29)
- South of secret #1 are twelve boxes of bullets. This secret is only open for thirty seconds from the start of the level. (sector 95) If you stay in the room until it closes, you can use the switch inside to permanently open it again.
- Facing north from the top of the southern central courtyard stairs, there is a small ledge west of the second to the top stair. Go north-west from the central courtyard through a thin passage. When you head out, head through the lava to a floating skull rock. Shoot the FIREBLUE crack in the wall there, then teleport and head back to the thin passage again, this time staying on the wall as you head south. The room here has an armor bonus and a zombieman. (sector 90)
- Head south along the wall from secret #3 and stay on it as it goes east. Enter the small room to get a megaarmor. (sector 38)
- Enter the lava south of the building and get on the platform near the building to find a supercharge. (sector 125)
- In the central courtyard, get on the south-east ledge and head in that direction. At the next turn, look west through the small crack in the wall and shoot the eye to reveal the passage south of the chainsaw. (sector 6)
- Enter secret #6 and go on the thin wall as it heads around the east side of the building. You will find a small room with armor bonuses and a berserk pack. (sector 30)
Non-official[edit]
- In the north-east of the building there are three red torches arranged to look like a sunken fireplace. Going up to the wall immediately right of it (south-east) reveals part of the floor to be a lift. Take it down to reveal a spectre and a backpack.
