Essentials[edit]

Look at the north-east corner of the starting room to see a gap with an evil eye, shoot the eye to open the nearby poison sign, then press the button behind the sign to raise a path from the nukage behind you. Follow the path north to a bright room with barrels (there is a radiation shielding suit at the entrance on Hurt Me Plenty skill level or higher), then go between the walls to reach a staircase at the south end of the room. Go down the stairs and turn left at the first junction to face one to three shotgun guys, then go east at the second junction to enter a room with four green blocks. Press the button by the south-western block to lower a lift, ride it up then run across the tops of the blocks to enter the room with the red keycard and a rocket launcher, which are defended by lost souls (plus shotgun guys and cacodemons on Hurt Me Plenty (HMP) skill level or higher).

Go back to the second junction and go down the steps here to a red door, open it to find an imp and cacodemon guarding a plasma gun, then go south up another set of steps to a room with a berserk pack and some skin walls. Fight off the three demons that teleport in then enter any of the tunnels at the south end of the room, which are defended by an immobile cyberdemon on Ultra-Violence (UV) and Nightmare (NM), to find the blue keycard. Go back to the bright room and go down the stairs on the west side to a blue door, pass through it to enter a stone cave then follow the path to a room with a cement building. Follow the walkway in this room past some imps, shotgun guys and barons of Hell to the chamber at the south-east end, then press the button inside it to raise a bridge leading back to the cave.

Return to the bright room, which is now guarded by a cyberdemon on HMP or higher, to see that the gray wall at the north end has lowered, then drop down the hole behind the wall to land in a dark tunnel with some imps. Follow the tunnel to a large cave and step on the first bridge section, then look north to see an evil eye in a crack and shoot it to raise the second section, then step on the second section to lower the column next to it, revealing one or more shotgun guys and another eye. Shoot the second eye to raise the next bridge section, step on it to lower another column containing a third eye, then shoot that eye as well to raise the final part of the bridge. Go to the end of the bridge and step across to the switch on the final column, flip it to lower a wall at the north end of the cave, then enter the dark tunnel behind the wall to find the exit portal.

Other points of interest[edit]

Enter the passage behind the red key to get a supercharge. Taking it allows one to three barons to teleport into the red key room, and opens a staircase leading back down to the previous room.

Secrets[edit]

Official[edit]

  1. Enter the bright nukage room with barrels and take the east teleporter before it closes (after thirty seconds have passed in the level). You will get an energy cell pack, a box of shotgun shells, and a megaarmor. (sector 664)
  2. Take the steps leading to the south field, but get on the wall east of it and follow it north and around to the south wall. Lower it, ride it up, and take the teleporter to telefrag the cyberdemon near the blue key. You can also get the armor bonuses from the walls here. (sector 642)
  3. In the north-west cave, at the turn, find the FIREBLU wall in the north-west corner and shoot it to reveal a box of rockets, an energy cell pack, and a medikit. (sector 667)
  4. In the north area, head to the fence at the north-east end and look south-west. Shoot the evil eye to open an entrance behind the fence, allowing you to get the supercharge, energy cell pack, and box of bullets. (sector 557)
  5. At the south end of the north area, jump to the nukage where the health bonuses are, go to the west side, then south through the false wall. You will find a berserk pack, a radiation suit, and a supercharge (not on UV or NM). (sector 533)
  6. In the cave north of the bright nukage room, head east onto the first path, then backtrack and take the teleporter. Return to the starting point and head east, where the first switch used to be, to find a megaarmor, ammo, and a supercharge (or medikit on UV or NM). (sector 636)

Non-official[edit]

  • The moment the level starts, step backwards to get a supercharge. The item is closed off when you move forward.

Bugs[edit]

The end of the third bridge section in the final cave (linedef 3753) has no lower texture, creating a visible hall of mirrors effect until the fourth bridge section is raised.
