E6M8: Malebolge is the eighth map of episode The Final Gate in Doom the Way id Did: The Lost Episodes. Contrarily to usual ExM8 levels, it is not the end of the episode, and completing it leads to E6M9: Hell's Mosh Pit. It was designed by Michael Fraize (Marcaek). The par time defined in MAPINFO is 30 seconds.

Walkthrough[edit]
Essentials[edit]
Grab the shotgun to your left then head east until you drop into a white pit - there are barons of Hell on the ledges on the west side of the pit, and the three marble blocks in the pit will lower to reveal a chaingun along with shotgun guys and lost souls. Enter the doorway on the south side of the pit to enter a fenced area, then press the skull switch in the south-west corner followed by a second switch behind it to enter an area with some large rocks. Head around the west side of the rocks to a lava pool, where you will be able to climb up the rocks to reach a rocket launcher and a skull switch. Press the switch to release a spiderdemon on the west side of the area, then kill it to end the level.

Secrets[edit]
- Go through the false wall behind the starting point to get a plasma gun. (sector 45)
- In the central cage, open the bloody wall to the east to find ammo and a berserk pack. (sector 38)
- Open the east wall in the previous secret to go back to the starting ledge. (sector 53)
- Press the switch at the top of the rock in the final arena, then go to the north-west lava pit to find a new cave with a stimpack, armor bonuses, health bonuses, a box of bullets, and a teleporter back to the top of the rock. (sector 54)
