Walkthrough[edit]
Essentials[edit]
Use the chaingun in front of you to kill the enemies in the main corridor, then go down the stairs at the north end to enter the Cyber Warfare Center. Collect the plasma gun in the middle of the room, which is protected by a few imps and other monsters, then go to the west end of the room to find a backpack, which will open a button near the entrance to the center. Press the button then go back to the main corridor to find that a compartment has opened near the middle, which contains the red keycard. With the key, open the red door at the west end of the corridor to enter a room with a lava pit, kill some waiting imps then carefully go around the pit to the stairs on the west side. Go up the stairs to get a megaarmor, but watch out for the fire wall ahead as it conceals a baron of Hell.
Walk through the fire wall to find a hidden tunnel and follow it to the Waste Storage Area, where a cyberdemon awaits on Ultra-Violence and Nightmare skill levels. Climb the crates north-east of the nukage pool to get an energy cell pack (or box of rockets on UV and NM), which will open a compartment next to the red door containing the yellow keycard, then go through the tunnel that opens on the south-east side to return to the start. Fight off the shotgun guys (and lost souls, cacodemons and baron on Hurt Me Plenty or higher) that teleport in, collect the yellow key from the compartment you just opened, then go back outside and pass through the yellow door at the south end of the storage area.
Do not fall into the nukage pit in front of you as you will not be able to escape. Press the gargoyle switch at the west end of the walkway to lower the dividing wall in the nukage, then go round to the east side to deal with the lost souls and cacodemons that have been released there. Step across the dividing wall to reach a button and press it to lower a metal lift behind you, revealing one or two barons along with the exit portal.
Other points of interest[edit]
Taking the red key will open a button to the east. Press this button, then ride the lift north-east of the start up to Storm Sector 7 and go forward to an open door leading to the Training Field.
Secrets[edit]
- From the start, quickly take the north-east lift to Storm Sector 7. Head north and enter the compartment for a box of bullets, a stimpack or a medikit depending on skill level, and shotgun shells on UV and NM. This secret closes after thirty seconds have passed in the level. (sector 243)
- North of the start, use the computer west of the gray crates. This reveals a radiation shielding suit behind you. (sector 70)
- In the darkened west area of the Cyber Warfare Center, face east and shoot the eye. This opens a wall behind you containing a chainsaw, a stimpack, and a light amplification visor. (sector 218)
- In the Training Field, walk into the lava cave at the south end. Look carefully behind the supercharge in the south-east corner, but do not go too close to the wall or you will teleport. Shoot the FIREBLU crack in the wall to open a matching area on the north side of the lava pool containing a partial invisibility. (sector 89)
- From the previous secret, look south and shoot the eye to open a teleporter leading to the multiplayer section of the map. Among the items here are a backpack, a box of rockets, an energy cell pack, an armor, and a supercharge. A teleporter in the north wall returns you to the main map. (sector 306)
- Beyond the red door, go up the steps to the west and walk north behind the crates. Shoot the evil eye to the north to open the west wall, which has armor bonuses, a supercharge, shotgun shells, and an energy cell pack. (sector 230)
- Past the yellow door, head west and then south to a switch. Look west and shoot the evil eye hidden in the damaged wall. This opens the north wall which contains an energy cell pack and a medikit. (sector 201)
