Letters in italics refer to marked spots on the map. Sector, thing, and linedef numbers in boldface are secrets which count toward the end-of-level tally.

Essentials[edit]

Other points of interest[edit]

Secrets[edit]

  1. In the area with the lift that leads to the prison cells at the north end, take the lift down and head east. In this hall, there are four lion faces on the south wall. Shoot the middle one to open the opposite wall, which contains a box of shotgun shells. The alcove behind it will open with two medikits, and either an imp or a revenant depending on your skill level. (sector 521)
  2. In the brick field with the blood river at the north end, the blood canals at the west and east ends of the area lead to a secret with a soul sphere. In order to get it, when you enter the area, a compartment to the east will open, with at least one arch-vile, (two on higher settings). You must use an arch-vile jump, preferably at the northeast blood canal, to get to the secret behind the blood canal. On Hey, Not Too Rough or lower, it is still possible to access the secret, though it requires nearly-perfect straferunning from the side of the blood river to get. (sector 651)
  3. In the south central part of the map with two round platforms (one of which has a yellow key), take either the southwest or southeast steps up to the hall and get rid of the barrels here. There are three marble walls at the south end, with the left and right ones opening this secret, but for only five seconds. The satyr switch closer to the leftmost wall will lower the lift that led to this area (also for five seconds), and the hall beyond is where the secret is. To get this secret, you must press the satyr switch, then the marble wall southwest of it, then quickly run back to the area and north, then a bit to the east where you will find two backpacks and a red skull key (watch out for the baron of Hell on Hurt Me Plenty or higher). This counts as two secrets. (sector 1000)
  4. See Secret #3. (sector 2389)
  5. At the southeasternmost hall (which can be accessed by taking the southeast teleporter at the start), use the lion switch at the east end to create steps, then use it again. Drop down and get the megaarmor to the south for this secret. (sector 2362)
  6. At the easternmost end of the map, climb to the higher section to the east, then face west and run across the platforms to a round platform with a megasphere. Note that the platforms you cross will lower, which means you only have one shot to get this secret. (sector 2057)
  7. Get all three accessible red keys in the map, then get past the three key doors to the area with the teleporter leading to the exit area. If you got all three red keys, you will be able to access the invulnerability at the north end, which counts as three secrets. (sector 1447)
  8. See Secret #7. (sector 2379)
  9. See Secret #7. (sector 2380)
  10. Get all three accessible yellow keys in the map, then get past the three key doors to the area with the teleporter leading to the exit area. If you got all three yellow keys, you will be able to access the BFG9000 and energy cell pack at the east end, which counts as three secrets. (sector 1449)
  11. See Secret #10. (sector 2383)
  12. See Secret #10. (sector 2384)
  13. Get all three accessible blue keys in the map, then get past the three key doors to the area with the teleporter leading to the exit area. If you got all three blue keys, you will be able to access the megasphere at the south end, which counts as three secrets. (sector 1445)
  14. See Secret #13. (sector 2381)
  15. See Secret #13. (sector 2382)

Bugs[edit]

A shotgun guy (Thing 955) in the southwest has no flags set for any of the three difficulty classes, so it does not actually appear in the level.

A megasphere (thing 215), an invulnerability (thing 209), and a soul sphere (thing 619) are inaccessible by normal means without using the no-clipping code (they are used as markers showing how to get specific keys for secrets). Because of this, only 99% items is possible on this map.
