fhDOOM is a source port for Doom 3 with the goal of modernising the base game and the id Tech 4 engine while retaining the original feature set. It covers the original game, its expansion Resurrection of Evil and all game tools. It features a complete port for modern OpenGL and GLSL as well as soft shadows using shadow mapping, soft particles, CMake-based build system and experimental support for Qt-based tools. A fork project by hogsy also exists under the name D3Foxed.
