Replacing This Picture?
Virtually all of the other cover arts are just pulled from places rather than being a scanned/snapped original. I made the scan for the Doom Wiki at a time when there was a great concern for grabbing box art images from non-original sources. The image already here (the one I scanned) is of quite low quality due to the fact that the case is metal and due to the way scanners work (using bright beams of light) causes many issues which confuse the scanner as to what it actually sees. - Such images should still be self-sourced where practical. Failing that, they must either A. come from another source that has disclaimed any 3rd-party copyright such as photographic composition rights (uploads to other wikis are almost always under these terms but it's on a per-image basis) or B. it must contain no such elements (a perfectly cropped straight-on photograph of commercial box art cannot be additionally copyrighted over what rights exist to the box art in the first place, so it's fair use). Either case requires use of prudence. --Quasar (talk) 22:15, 24 November 2015 (CST)
