The flamethrower being used against a group of zombies.
This article is about the Doom Eternal weapon. For the weapon from Strife, see Flamethrower.

The flamethrower, also referred to as the flame belcher, is a shoulder-mounted side-arm weapon occurring in Doom Eternal. It shares its shoulder mounting point—one of the game's new features added to the Praetor suit—with the grenade launcher. It fires a short burst of flames that sets enemies ablaze, doing damage over a long period of time and stunning the enemies while they burn. By turning left and right while the flames are firing, the Doom Slayer can spread the damage out across multiple targets with a single use. As with other "third-arm" weapons that fire from the shoulder mount, killing enemies with combo attacks using the player's main weapon will reward the player with armor shards.

Its subject matter currently has no known canonical name, but it is important enough to be documented. It has been given a provisional title until such time an official source becomes available. At that time, it should be moved to the proper location, leaving a redirect.
