Blue skull key[edit]
Collect the Berserk powerup in front of you, which will significantly increase your damage and give you unlimited melee charges, then kill the mancubi, whiplashes, battle knights, ballistatrons and Agaddon hunter that spawn around you. At the back of the room are two alcoves with candles inside them—go into the left-hand alcove and look up and right to see a chain, break it to release a block then go into the right-hand alcove where a crusher has activated. Ride the crusher to the floor above and kill a nightmare imp stalker, then drop behind the block and charge into it to push it to the other end of the room. Climb on the block and jump to the walkway to your left, then flip the switch here to fill the room with blood, letting you swim up to the hole in the ceiling.
On the surface, follow the cliff path to a flesh node and pull yourself across to it, kill a waiting revenant then continue down the path until you reach the entrance to a large building. There is a combat encounter here involving ballistatrons, acolytes, two armored mancubi and a battle knight, followed by a revenant and vagary. Enter the building and go forward to a circular room with a lift, which is locked with the blue skull, then kill the ballistatron enforcer along with some nightmare stalkers and plasma soldiers before moving on. Enter the next corridor and break some spikes blocking your path, then raise the shield and sprint through a trio of cannons before killing an arachnotron waiting above them.
Go into the next room and charge into the cyberdemon on the other side of the pit, kill it along with a battle knight then push through another set of cannons to encounter some more spikes. Break the spikes and go up the stairs to face two empowered whiplashes, kill them along with the chaingunner soldier enforcing them, then pass through the nearby barrier to enter a room with another crusher. Go outside and cross the bridge in front of you, noting the monsters that spawn around you, then jump across a pit and kill a cacodemon and mancubus on the other side—there is a red skull gate here that you will need to return to later. Jump across another pit to dispose of a revenant, then enter the tunnel ahead and follow the path until it leads you to the blue skull.
Red skull key[edit]
Approach the building entrance to summon a cosmic baron, which will be followed by armored pinky riders and a komodo leader. Kill the leader to get a demonic essence and increase your maximum health, then go inside the building and return to the circular lift room. Ride the lift up to the floor above and go forward to an area with a large skull, kill the mancubus and revenant that appear then continue forward to an armored rider and imp stalker who are protecting a large gate. Step through the gate and pull yourself to the flesh node ahead, then run past some zombies to a platform with a jump pad that goes up to a Sentinel shrine. As you approach the jump pad it will turn off and a Berserk powerup will appear behind you, which you can use to fight off the Hell knights, battle knights and baron that appear.
Once the encounter is cleared, jump up to the shrine then follow the path down to some ruins. Pass under the ruins and kill a whiplash and chaingunner soldier that appear ahead, then run right and climb up the slope to deal with an armored mancubus and nightmare stalkers. Jump across a gap to enter the nearby tower, slay a couple of revenants then go up the stairs to deal with a chaingunner and arachnotron waiting at the top. Pull yourself to the nearby flesh node then follow the path to the red skull.
Barge[edit]
Drop down into the ruin and go to the bottom of the slope to find a red skull gate; before you can open it you will need to fight off a cacodemon and cyberdemon that appear nearby. Go through the gate and follow the path down to a mancubus on a ledge, killing any lost souls and other monsters that get in your way, then continue to a circular platform which is guarded by another mancubus. Pull yourself up to the flesh node above the second mancubus and follow the path until you encounter a pinky rider and two whiplashes, then continue going forward to return to the red skull gate you passed earlier. Go through the gate and use the shrine behind it if you need to, then follow the path down to an archway and pass through it to get on the barge.
Collect the supplies if you need them then climb the scramble wall to reach the main deck, where you must engage an armored rider leader in a morale encounter. You will need to defeat a large number of demons, including a komodo, to drop the leader’s shield; there is a Berserk powerup on the left side of the deck which will help you but it will only last for about 30 seconds, so save it for when you really need it. Once the leader is killed and you have taken its essence to increase your skull ammo capacity, go inside the ship and kill some soldiers, nightmare stalkers and mancubi waiting by the pistons. Jump across the pistons to reach the other side of the room and take out an arachnotron and two more nightmare stalkers, then charge the block just past them to create a path up to the top floor. Push past a whiplash in the tunnel ahead then pass through it to reach the back of the barge, where a lift will take you up to the helm and the end of the level.
Challenges[edit]
The first challenge awards a ruby, while the second and third challenges award 50 gold each.
- Berserker
- Kill 75 demons while under the influence of Berserk
- There are three Berserk powerups to find. The first is at the start of the level. The second is just before the second shrine. The third is on the main deck of the barge.
- Dragon Hoard
- Smash open three gold chests
- The chests are in secrets #4, #8 and #10.
- Executioner
- Perform an execution on 25 demons
- Only heavy and super-heavy demons can be executed. Avoid using powerful single-shot weapons like the super shotgun or chainshot as these are likely to kill demons outright rather than making them vulnerable to execution.
Secrets[edit]
Official[edit]
- After killing the arachnotron above the first set of cannons, turn around and jump to the scramble wall behind you to reach two piles of gold.
- In the pit room with the cyberdemon, go to the path at the end of the pit and follow it to a switch, which will activate a crusher behind you. Kill the battle knight and nightmare stalker that ambush you, then ride the crusher up to some gold bars and a life sigil.
- After passing the two empowered whiplashes you will enter a room with a crusher. Ride the crusher up and jump to the button on your right, kill a stone imp then stand on the button to open the energy node on the opposite wall. Activate the node to open the gate below it and reveal the ruby statue.
- From the previous secret, go outside then turn left and go down two flights of steps to see a launcher ahead. Jump past the launcher to a narrow ledge and carefully walk along it to enter a dead end with a gold chest and explosive barrels. Blow up the barrels to kill the battle knight that bursts through the wall behind you.
- Just before reaching the first combat encounter, you will pass a gate that requires the blue skull to open. The toy is behind it.
- After riding the lift up and reaching the large skull, go around its left side to find stairs leading to a jump pad. Use the pad to go up to a life sigil.
- After clearing the monsters inside the tower near the red skull, go down to the bottom floor and charge through the stone wall underneath the stairs to find an energy node. Activating the node raises a lift in the middle of the staircase, which goes up to a chaingunner soldier guarding the wraithstone statue.
- After passing through the red skull gate in the ruin, follow the path to the circular platform then go down to the bottom of the stairs, where your path is impeded by two flame jets. Walk past the first jet to step on to a stone path, kill a waiting cacodemon then pull up to the flesh node behind it, then climb a scramble wall to find a gold chest.
- In the piston room on the barge, ride the first piston up to the top then jump to the left-hand walkway to find two gold piles.
- On the far side of the piston room, charge the metal block then look through the hole behind it to see a barrier you can charge through. The room behind it contains a gold chest, guarded by two cannons.

- After acquiring the red skull, proceed through the red key gate in the ruins and follow the path down to two statues holding braziers. Behind the furthest statue on the lower platform is a secret lever which spawns a soulsphere on the platform just above. Approaching it will cause three cyberdemons to spawn.
