The IWADs contain the following numbers of health bonuses per skill level:
- Health bonuses are worth 2% in many ports, including the Sega 32X and Sony PlayStation editions.
- The upper limit of 200% can be altered with DeHackEd.
- In Doom RPG, the health bonus is called a health vial. It increases the player's health by 4 units.
- After the score system was removed following the Doom press release beta, demonic daggers functioned as health bonuses at one point in development, as seen during a visit to id Software.
