Hordamex, short for The Hordes of Odamex, is a 54-level PWAD for Doom II designed for Odamex. It was first released in October 2022 and subsequently uploaded to the idgames archive on November 24, 2022.

It was selected as one of the multiplayer winners at the Cacowards 2022.

Custom monsters[edit]

Melee revenant
An unarmored revenant lacking a projectile attack.
Nightmare Demon
A faster, tougher version of the demon.
Bull Pinky
A very tough, hunched-over pinky variant with a faster attack.
Boney Boy
A cartoonish black-and-white skeleton. Throws bones.
Suicide Bomber
A screaming zombie that explodes on contact with a player.
Wight
An imp-like shambling cadaver. "Plays dead" when shot.
Afrit
A floating baron that fires a salvo of revenant fireballs and mancubus shots.
Dark Devil
A dark imp variant with a faster projectile.
Baby Cacodemon
A smaller, melee-only version of the cacodemon.
Cyber Afrit
A cyberdemon that flies.
Resurrector
An archvile without its trademark flame attack. Resurrects fallen monsters as normal.
Cyber Baron
A cybernetic baron that fires rockets much like the cyberdemon.
Lord of Heresy
A brown Hell noble, possessing three different fireball attacks each with their own spread pattern.
Archon of Hell
A blackened Hell noble that can throw green comets.
Behemoth
A colossal armored beast that hurls cyberdemon rockets in the same way the mancubus shoots its fireballs.
Aracnorb
A tentacled spider-brain that shoots homing plasma.
Aracnorb Queen
A larger aracnorb with a continuous plasma ball attack.
Fodder Zombie
An emaciated melee-only demon.
Beta Soul
A floating skull with a hitscan bullet attack.
Beta Imp
An imp that shoots a different type of fireball - no differences other than visual.
Cacolantern
An orange cacodemon with a speedy projectile attack.
Super shotgunner
A zombie armed with an SSG.
Hectebus
A dark grey mancubus with more powerful fireball volley attacks.
Belphegor
A very tough red Hell baron.
Astral Cacodemon
A grey cacodemon with a very aggressive attack and trademark shrill scream.
Former Captain
A green-suited zombie with a projectile bullet attack.
Overlord
A giant cacodemon variant with an array of potent attacks, along with the ability to summon baby cacodemons.
Hive Mother
A giant anthropomorphic wasp queen. Fires homing bees.
Cyber-Mastermind
A cyberdemon's upper body fused to a spider mastermind chassis. Fires homing rockets and chaingun bullets simultaneously.
Nazi Guard
Basic enemy from Wolfenstein with simple pistol attack.
SS Trooper
Identical to the SS soldiers in Doom 2.
Nazi Officer
A white-suited nazi enemy with a doubled-up pistol attack.
Hans Grosse
A large nazi enemy in a chaingun-fitted robot suit.
Putrefier
A rotten-green cacodemon variant. Spawns wights with its vomit.
Mite
A tiny spider-like demon. Kills itself in a small explosion when it gets too close.
Hemodemon
A bloody-mouthed cacodemon. Fires homing projectiles that leave damaging clouds on impact.
Vampyr
A thin imp-like creature covered in viscera. Fires homing fireballs.
Hellduke
A towering goat-demon. Attacks with both regular and homing rockets.
Shark Imp
An imp with shark features.
Shark Demon
A demon with a shark head - no differences other than visual.
UAC Marines
Various rogue marines kitted out with familiar weaponry, anything from a pistol to a BFG9000.
Doom 64 enemies
Various enemies directly from Doom 64.

Custom weapons[edit]

Weapon switching speed has been increased.

Double chainsaw
The chainsaw has been given a second blade and higher rate of damage.
Burst rifle
Replaces the pistol. It fires in bursts of two pistol shots.
Chaingun
The chaingun has been modified to have a higher rate of fire.
