Kevin Reay (Magikal)

Kevin Reay (alias Magikal) was a Doom mapper and speedrunner who was known to frequently attend speedmapping sessions. He was found dead on May 20, 2003 at age 45. His death remained unknown to the community until December 16, when his friend Rich Sham received official word confirming his death and reported it via the Doomworld Forums. His death was mourned by members of the community, many of whom had known and appreciated him. Kevin was a well-known magician, having won all of the Northern Magic Circle, The Magic Circle, The International Brotherhood of Magicians and "The International Magic Competition" awards. After his death, the International Magic Close-Up Competition renamed its annual trophy the "Kevin Reay Close-up Award" in his honor as he was its first winner.
