MAP01: Approach is the first map of DOOM 2 - Flashback to Hell. It was designed by Stormwalker (Vordakk) and uses the music track "Doomrider" by John Weekley (PRIMEVAL).

- In the room with the triangular staircase, head south and go to the next room. Get on the right terminal and open the monitor for a box of rockets. (sector 261)
- In the room with several platforms, get on the ledge north of the platforms, then use the left monitor to get a shotgun and shotgun shells. (sector 206)
- In the southeast courtyard, shoot the three barrels in the northwest corner and use the switch, which lowers the rocket launcher. (sector 250)
- Stay on the rocket launcher lift and ride it up. Jump west and on the wall, then head north and open the wall to get health and armor bonuses. (sector 405)
- Jump west from the wall mentioned above and head all the way west, north, and east to find more health and armor bonuses. (sector 410)
