Walkthrough

Letters in italics refer to marked spots on the map. Sector, thing, and linedef numbers in boldface are secrets which count toward the end-of-level tally.

Essentials

There are two ways to finish this level - a normal one and a hidden one. The first part is the same for both of them - you just have to climb the stairs to the top of the mountain. Try to stay close to the wall most of the time to avoid falling into the abyss. Sometimes you will have to make an occasional jump. Once you reach the marble steps, keep moving until you see a person in a red robe (the Wise Guy) floating in the air between the torches. Now you have two options:

1. Normal ending. Come closer to the Wise Guy to trigger a cutscene. In the end you will die and the level will end.
2. Hidden ending. Turn around, speed up and jump onto the lowest rock nearby. Then jump to reach the next level of the same rock. Turn right and jump over the gap to the next rock, then again to the last rock. Turn left and continue walking on the rock. You have to drop down several times. Stop when you reach a stream of water. Turn right and carefully approach the edge of the rock. Look down and you will see a small ledge. Drop down on it. Turn left and enter the cave. There you will find a girl with pink hair named Kate and a portal behind her. Do not enter the portal right away or you will die! Instead, talk to Kate. You have to go through some of the first questions (your answers do not matter much, unless you end the dialogue) until you get to more topics. Select "I think I'd better go", then enter the portal. This way you will finish the level alive.
