MAP01: Main Compound is the first map of Area 51. It was designed by Keith Hickman and uses a MIDI rendition of "Theme from Mission: Impossible" by Lalo Schifrin, from Mission: Impossible, as its music track.

Secrets[edit]
- In the super shotgun area, head north and east into the first damaging corridor all the way to the chainsaw. (sector 91)
- As you head northwest, when you get to the room with barrels, head to the northeast corner with the rocket and open the wall for a megaarmor. (sector 149)
- In the room north of the previous secret with radiation boxes, find a misaligned wall in the southeast corner and open it to get a berserk pack. (sector 197)
- Take the plus-shaped lift after the red door down. Head south and open a misaligned wall on the west side to get a box of rockets. (sector 302)
- Climb the steps to the southernmost area and use the east wall just before the top. Open another wall to find a medikit, a megaarmor, and partial invisibility. (sector 352)
- In the southernmost area, open the picture at the east wall to get a BFG9000 (not on Hey, Not Too Rough or lower). (sector 476)
- In the southernmost area, open the southwest bookshelf for a box of ammo and a box of rockets. (sector 478)
