MAP01: Mutabor is the first map of Mutabor. It was designed by Thomas Seifert (tourniquet) and uses the music track "diranir" by Zan-zan-zawa-veia.

Secrets[edit]

  1. In the first area, get the megasphere south of the area where you teleport to reveal a spider mastermind to the north. Climb up to where it is and find a red light at the bottom of the east wall. Use that light, then go to the southeast corner to find a health bonus (not on Hey, Not Too Rough or lower) and a switch which reveals a nearby teleporter, taking you back to the spider mastermind platform.   2. Take the lift at the west end of the first area up, then go southwest. Head south and turn west at the fork. Head south again, but look at the metal wall to the east. Look at the lights on the north side and you should see one that is white instead of green. Use it to open a wall to the north containing a chaingun sargeant guarding a box of rockets (Hurt Me Plenty or lower) or a berserk pack (Ultra-Violence or higher). (sector 32)
  3. At the southwest section of the map, on the raised walkway over the nukage area at the far southwest, look at the three columns connected by fences. The rightmost one has a button tucked in it. Shoot the button, then head a bit southeast to find a minigun (Hurt Me Plenty) or an energy cell pack (other settings) in an alcove. (sector 356)
  4. At the southwest section of the map with the box of rockets (Hurt Me Plenty) or green armor (other settings) on the stack of crates, get on the high ledge near the crate and make a jump southeast to the dark brown ledge. On this ledge, there is a button on the east wall. Press it to lower a wall to the west containing a berserk pack (Hurt Me Plenty) or a box of rockets (other settings). (sector 423)
  5. At the east side of the map you will find an area that has monsters on three computer terminals as well as a column in between them. You can use the south side of the southernmost terminal as a lift to go up. Do so, then head to the northernmost terminal and stand on it, facing west. There will be a switch in the distance if you face that direction. Shoot it, then go to the east side of the column and flip the switch to lower the slime behind you. Drop in and head northeast to get boxes of ammo and a soul sphere (Hey, Not Too Rough or lower) or energy cells and a plasma gun (Hurt Me Plenty or higher). (sector 557)
  6. In the south central nukage area (which will have the blue key on Hurt Me Plenty or higher), go to the southwest side to the area that has the plasma gun (rocket launcher on Hey, Not Too Rough or lower) on a platform with a switch. This switch will not only lower the platform, but numerous closets around the area. Head to the east side where four closets have opened and enter the southernmost one (where a demon on Hurt Me Plenty or higher or a baron of Hell on Hey, Not Too Rough or lower came from). Look at the lights at the north wall and find the one that is white instead of green. Use it to lower the middle section connecting these halls. Down here you will find armor bonuses along with two boxes of rockets (Hey, Not Too Rough or lower), two energy cells (Ultra-Violence or higher), or an energy cell and a backpack (Hurt Me Plenty).   7. In the central part of the map with the mancubus at the northern fence, climb the steps nearby and head to the south wall with the electricity symbol on it. Use it and flip the switch that appears to find energy cells, as well as health bonuses on top of the lift. (sector 677)
  8. In the middle of the map, go to the building southwest of the red door, enter the slime below, and use a switch for a lift. When you take it up, go to the southwest metal wall with an electricity symbol on it. Use it to find a secret switch. Flip it and head to the slime to the south to see a revenant and another switch. Flip that one to lower the lift behind you with two spectres. Ride that lift and head south to where a mancubus is. Doing so lowers the floor, where you can drop off to the east to pick up a computer area map. (sector 720)
  9. In the midair area with the green borders, grab the soul sphere (megasphere on Hey, Not Too Rough or lower) in the middle, then go all the way to the west side, face southwest, and shoot the switch. Enter the monster closet that opened on the north side and use the switch there to open another one to the southwest. Assuming you shot the other switch earlier, there will be a teleporter here. Take it to telefrag a cyberdemon as well as pick up a soul sphere and partial invisibility (both items are only available on Hey, Not Too Rough or lower). (sector 839)
  10. At the west side with the five pillars to rise, face the southeast section and find a green button on the wall. Shoot it to lower a wall to the southwest containing a chaingunner and two boxes of rockets (Hey, Not Too Rough or lower), a plasma gun and energy cell (Hurt Me Plenty), or a backpack and a box of shotgun shells (Ultra-Violence or higher).   11. At the west side of the map, just outside the area with five pillars to rise, is a switch with a green torch. The area below the switch counts as a secret, and the switch lowers a lift next to it leading up to a semi-circular area. There are two halls on both sides of the semi-circular area, but the area lowers if you approach either of them. Clear out the area below, then take the door you find here. Take the steps in the next area and flip the switch to take a lift up to another switch that opens the door. Go southeast to the edge, southwest to a fork, then northwest to the hall that you could not get to earlier. Get to the edge, then make a running jump over the metal railing to the west to reach the secret area. The platform with the energy cell pack is the secret. (sector 1141)
  12. After getting Secret #5, head to the south and use the switch to trigger the lift. Head east up the steps and around, then use the metal wall with two blue bars. This triggers a switch, so quickly drop off to the north and enter the north closet on the left side of Secret #5. The slime at the north end has lowered, so enter it before it rises and press the switch to the north to get a megasphere (BFG9000 on Hey, Not Too Rough or lower). (sector 1318)
  13. At the northwest end of the map, take a large lift up and go north to a berserk pack (Hey, Not Too Rough or lower) or a box of ammo (Hurt Me Plenty). Look east, past the terminal on the fence, and you should see a button on the wall. Shooting it removes the terminal. From here you can drop to the ground just above the slime with a soul sphere, energy cell pack, or plasma gun depending on your skill level. (sector 1440)
  14. At the southeast section of the map, you can see a building to the southeast with health bonuses, a box of rockets and an energy cell (Hey, Not Too Rough or lower), a box of rockets (Hurt Me Plenty), or rockets and an energy cell (Ultra-Violence or higher). To get to this building, use the switch in the building west of it to take a lift up, then head around to the next switch and drop back to the slime below. Walls will lower, with the one to the immediate north being the one you want to go to. A chaingun sargeant will be to the left when you enter the slime beyond this wall, and if you press the wall behind it, a switch will be revealed. Flip it, then head back to the southeast building where you will see an arch-vile on a large teleporter. Take it to reach the building. (sector 265)
  15. Using the switch that lowers Secret #12 also lowers a monster closet to the southeast, as well as a mancubus to the west of there. Another metal wall with two blue bars is at the north end of where the mancubus is. Use it, then enter the other closet to find a chaingunner (Hey, Not Too Rough or lower) or an energy cell pack (higher settings). (sector 1532)
  16. Go towards the green door that leads to the exit. which will open two monster closets when you get to a midpoint on the path. Go west of the northern monster closet which will trigger a lift. When this happens, quickly enter the southern monster closet and press the skull switch to the left. This will lower a teleporter at the northern teleporter closet, allowing you to telefrag monsters until you reach the northeast. Take another teleporter here to get a soul sphere. (sector 1806)
