MAP01: Pit of Fire is the first map of Judgment. It was designed by Blake Collins (Rayziik) and uses the music track "Besieged City" by James Paddock (Jimmy). The par time is 3:30. In the Retrial edition this level received fairly small changes in both geometry and things population.

Essentials[edit]
You spawn on a raised diamond-shaped platform in a lake of lava on the southern side of the map. To your northwest, there is a mancubus, and to the north, there is a series of circular platforms that lead down to the northern part of the map. Some of these platforms have dark imps on them, which are similar in strength to regular imps. If you fall down, there are three switches next to the north platform that can be activated to lower a tiny platform that lets you get out of the lava.
Travel north, and be careful as you take out the imps. The mancubus is faced away from you, and your first shot will alert it to your presence. When you reach the northern end, you will be able to pick up the shotgun and some shells. The skull switch to the east on this platform will activate a staircase on the western side, allowing you to access the western mineshaft. The mineshaft contains a Hell knight, two demons, and some dark imps, as well as the aforementioned mancubus.
Once you have killed the mancubus, activate the skull switch on the balcony area to raise another staircase that will take you to the eastern side of the map from the northern platform. A group of dark imps and a baby cacodemon will emerge from the eastern mineshaft.
You will encounter a Hell knight and some dark imps as you head deeper into the eastern mineshaft, as well as a mancubus that will teleport in. The skull switch found in this area will raise platforms in the lava in the large cave to the south, which has a revenant on a tall pillar in the middle. The mineshaft beyond the cave contains several enemies, so it is a good idea to take out this revenant before proceeding.
On the other side, you will find a demon, some more dark imps, and another revenant. Travel through this southern shaft and you will come out on a ledge directly to the east of the starting platform with a demon on it and a revenant that will spawn in. Head into the small cave to the southeast, and step onto the exit platform to end the level.

- At the east side, cross the platforms to the south and head to the southwest lavafall and through it to get a box of rockets. (sector 234)
- Enter the northeast side and head back west, then into the small cave to the south to get a medikit and shotgun shells. (sector 293)
- In the west hall, head to the northwest side and find a skull switch on the wooden arch to the east. Use it and take the path north getting health bonuses and going around to a rocket launcher. (sector 315)
