MAP01: The Furnace is the first map of Community Chest 2. It was designed by Erik Alm, and uses the music track "Dungeon: Exploring 1" from the PlayStation game Wild Arms 2.

Walkthrough[edit]

Letters in italics refer to marked spots on the map. Sector numbers in boldface are secrets which count toward the end-of-level tally.

Essentials[edit]

Go forward and pick up the shotgun on the left, and then go right past the pillar of lights into the next open area. A chainsaw is behind the crates here. Climb the stairs here and head south to a place with a switch. The map's secret is in this area. The switch raises the bars in the southeastern part of the room, leading to the balcony flanking the starting point. On this balcony, jump across the pillar of lights and down southeastward into a hellish area with a berserk pack and a chaingun. The portal towards the north leads to the balcony which holds the red key. Head towards the red door close to the starting point and behind it is a blue armor. You need to pick it up in order to open the exit door, but you will also trigger a monster ambush from three different sides before you are able to exit.

Secrets[edit]

  1. In the same area where you find the switch that opens the bars, there is a section of the southern wall with a candle in front of it. Open it to find a backpack. (sector 322)
