Walkthrough[edit]
Essentials[edit]
You begin near the center of the map. Go up the steps in front of you to an area with zombiemen then go left (east) down some more steps and south until you reach a few shotgun guys defending a button. Press the button to lower the walls to your left and right, revealing more shotgun guys and chaingunners, then go west into the room with the red keycard and press the button on the center column to open two closets at the west end containing revenants. Enter either closet and go down the steps to a nukage pool containing a rocket launcher, then press the button here to lower the pillar holding the red key; this will also release more revenants and imps, as well as an arch-vile on Ultra-Violence (UV) and Nightmare (NM) skill levels.
From the red key, go north-east to a red door and open it to see an arachnotron ahead, then go south and east to a radiation shielding suit and pick it up. Enter the nearby nukage and run north past some more chaingunners, imps and arachnotrons to a staircase, climb up it then flip the switch on the north wall. Go back through the nukage then head north to a now-open wall and go through it to enter a seemingly empty room. Press the button in the middle of the room to open the north door and trigger an ambush by zombiemen, shotgun guys and imps, then go through the door to enter the room with the blue keycard. Press the button next to the eastern window to lower a wall to the north, then go past that wall and flip the switch at the end of the passage to lower a second wall on the west side of the room.
Go round to the second wall and pass through it to reach another nukage pool with some chaingunners, then go east through the nukage to enter a small maze with imps, shotgun guys and spectres. Go to the south end of the maze to find another switch and flip it, then go back to the nukage and pass through the bars that have opened on the south side to find an armor and another switch. Flip this switch to lower the platform behind it with the plasma gun as well as the blue key, then pick up the key to trigger an ambush by three to six arch-viles that appear around you. Go back to the starting area and open the blue door on the west side, kill the crowd of zombies waiting on the other side then go down the steps to drop into another nukage pit overlooked by some imps.
Kill the chaingunners on the west side of the pit then press the gargoyle switch just behind them to lower a set of bars to your left. Go through the bars and run south-west to a staircase, climb it and press the gargoyle switch at the top to open the nearby gate; various enemies, including revenants on Hurt Me Plenty and an arch-vile on UV and NM, will ambush you when you pass through the gate. Go west into a tunnel with numerous shotgun guys and an arch-vile and press the gargoyle switch at the end, then go back outside to see that a bridge has risen leading to a ledge to the east with an arachnotron. Cross the bridge and follow the path to a white cave, kill two arch-viles that appear at the entrance (on UV and NM) then go through the cave and press the button at the north end to finish the level.
Other points of interest[edit]
Behind the red door is a ledge with an arachnotron. If you look behind the arachnotron you will see a backpack on a lift. After flipping the switch at the north end of the nukage in this area, turn around and go through the door behind you then push through some zombies to reach a second switch. This switch will lower a wall behind you, revealing two mancubi guarding the lift with the backpack on it.
A chainsaw can be found in the north-east corner of the map.
Secrets[edit]
- Enter the room south of the red door and use the button to open the east closet. In there, lower the north wall to find a supercharge. (sector 162)
- Approach the switch at the north-east end of the map from the east side, then under the light, use the west wall to find a megaarmor. (sector 463)
- Open the blue door and approach the steps. Get on the railing to the left to find an armor. (sector 284)
- Head down the steps mentioned above to the nukage pit, then head north and west to get a supercharge. (sector 350)
