MAP01 is the first map of Kmega1. It was designed by Kurt Kesler (kdoom). This level was originally released standalone as Metal (kmetl_1.wad) on December 16, 1997.

- When a lift lowers in the starting hall, ride it up to get a rocket launcher, a chaingun, a super shotgun, ammo, a backpack, a green armor, and a computer area map. (sector 47)
