MAP02: Halls of Suffering is the second map of Torment. It was designed by Shamus Young and uses an untitled music track by Young himself.

Secrets[edit]

  1. The yellow key platform has a switch on its east side which lowers a wall to the north allowing access to a megaarmor, a box of bullets, a box of shotgun shells, and a plasma rifle. Note that the switch can be activated even after the yellow key platform has been lowered. (sector 88)
  2. After raising the first staircase, return to the start and go down the second set of stairs. At the bottom is a passage leading to a lift up to a soul sphere. It is also possible to reach this area by using a teleporter in the north of the level that leads to the blue key area. Note that after the second staircase has been raised, it will be impossible to access this secret. (sector 30)
  3. On getting the red key, several monsters will warp in including an arch-vile. Use him to jump over the low barrier to the north, allowing access to an area with a switch, some ammo, a rocket launcher, two medikits, and a berserk. (sector 31)
  4. The switch in #3 opens a door north of the door to the exit (this can be accessed by walking round the walkway to the north), which leads to a red door leading to an area with a 'chessboard' of monsters, in the centre of which is a megasphere. There is also a partial invisibility in this area, along with two stimpacks in hard skill. (sector 143)
