MAP02: Monkey Wrench is the second map of Anomaly Report. It was designed by Michael Jan Krizik (valkiriforce) and uses the music track "Interphaze," originally composed by David Shaw (Tolwyn) for Memento Mori II. The par time defined in MAPINFO is 30 seconds.

Walkthrough[edit]

Essentials[edit]

Collect the shotgun in front of you then go straight forward into the building ahead. Go up the stairs to a zombieman then walk through the doorway next to it and follow the walkway round to a teleporter which will send you to the neighboring platform to the east. Step back into the teleporter to go to the easternmost building, which contains nine blocks, then step across the blocks to reach the blue keycard in the center; note that this will close a set of bars on the entrance. Kill the imps and zombiemen that teleport in, then press the button on the south-eastern block to open the bars so you can get back outside.

Go to the westernmost building and climb up the steps inside it, then step through the doorway at the top and look left to see the red keycard. Take the key, which will release a chaingunner behind you (on Hurt Me Plenty skill level or higher), then go to the center of the level and open the red bars here followed by the blue door behind them. Kill a waiting demon and flip the switch behind it to end the level.

Secrets[edit]

  1. Taking the red key opens an alcove to the north. Enter it, open the east wall, and flip the switch. Take the lift down to get to the water surrounding the map, then head to the south-west teleporter to get health bonuses. (sector 17)
  2. Enter the water around the map and head to the north-east side. Head south-west of the teleporter and use the lift to get a partial invisibility. (sector 95)
  3. Ride secret #2 up and jump west to the other edge. Drop down to get an armor and clips. (sector 56)
