MAP02: Tenochtitlan is the second map of Plutonia 1024: The Plutinya Experiment. It was designed by Colt Burton (Inkie), and the par time defined in MAPINFO is 1:30.

Walkthrough[edit]

Essentials[edit]

Turn left and go down the steps, then turn left to find a super shotgun. Drop into the damaging blood pool below and walk forward to a wooden step with an armor, then turn right and kill a couple of chaingunners above before heading up the steps - when you reach the top, kill the mancubus below before dropping down to its platform to get the red skull key. Press the small button on your left then drop into the pool again, then return to where you found the armor to find a teleporter leading back to the starting point.

Kill a couple of chaingunners at the bottom of the steps and take the rocket launcher behind them, then run east to a platform with two sets of small steps on it - run up the left-hand steps to land on a platform with a red key switch, then press it to open a door to the south with another switch hidden behind it. Leap across to this second switch and push it to open a compartment with four cacodemons, plus a pain elemental on Hurt Me Plenty skill level or higher - kill them, then step across to the red key switch again and run into the compartment to get the yellow skull key.

Go back to the teleporter in the south-west corner of the map to return to the start, then go back to the two small staircases and run up the right-hand staircase this time to get to a yellow key switch; as before, it will open a door on the previous platform hiding a skull switch. Press this switch to raise two platforms to the north, then run up them and quickly enter the teleporter on your right. Kill an arch-vile that has teleported in then press the skull switch on the wall ahead to open a wall behind you, revealing four shotgun guys (or two shotgun guys and two chaingunners on Ultra-Violence and Nightmare) guarding the exit teleporter.

Secrets[edit]

  1. After you get the red key, return to the start to find a rocket launcher. Press on the wall to the right to find a teleporter taking you to a berserk pack. (sector 23)
  2. After you get the yellow key, press the skull switch below the red key platform, then return to where the yellow key was to find stimpacks, armor bonuses, a box of rockets and a box of bullets south from where the key was. (sector 87)
