MAP02: The Mines is the second map of Alternate DOOM II. It was designed by Alden Bates.

Secrets[edit]

  1. After going through the first door to the east, you will enter a corridor with two lights. Between these lights is a steep staircase on the southern wall. From the top it is possible to jump north to reach a partial invisibility. (sector 23)
  2. Heading north from the lava trench east of the blue key, you will reach a room with a blood pit. Entering this blood pit from the west lowers a platform ahead containing a rocket launcher. (sector 125)
  3. Heading north from the lava trench west of the blue key, you will reach a room with a radiation shielding suit. The western alcove in this room has a secret door in its back wall, leading to a path to the red key room via a blue door. (sector 152)
  4. Go through the door west of the start - the south-western wall at the corner of this corridor is a secret door leading to a backpack, a box of bullets, and 4 shotgun shells (none of these are present on easy skill. (sector 147)
  5. The southern part of the western wall of #4 is a secret door leading to a light amplification visor (not present on easy skill). (sector 155)
